    What a save.

There is no reason France should be playing this midfield against Australia. They should have another attacking midfielder in there.

What time is it where you are? (I also don't know where you are based, east coast?)

Game started at 6am EST. I’m in Knoxville, TN. Most of the rest of my state would’ve been 5am CST which would’ve sucked.

Damn. I remember 2002 Japan/Korea world cup and what an absolute pain that was for me to watch as a child as most games took place whilst I was at school!

Yeah. I’m missing half of the third and all of the fourth game for work today. On most days I work, this early match will be the only one I can sneak in. I took off the semis and the final.

I remember the 2010 World Cup I was interning out near Seattle and got up at 4am for USA-Slovenia. Why doesn’t the world align with sports?!

At least you won't have this problem in 2026! I'm tempted to try vacation out there and catch a game that world cup!

Hopefully by then I’ll make decent money. Attending a few matches in 2026 and finally getting to the Olympics in 2028 are definitely life goals.

Just discovered I can switch the audio to 5 Live, I’m saved from having to hear Mark Lawrenson for the rest of the World Cup :praise:

I wanted more Australia-Netherlands 2014 and not whatever this has been. But this coffee is strong and that’s nice.

I thought that wasn’t a pen on the VAR, looked like he just got a touch on the ball first. Certainly caught the player afterwards though.

Didn't look like he got the ball enough, foul to me tbh.

Griezmann can release a video about scoring at the World Cup now.

Still I think the way the VAR technology was used worked well. Apparently it was shown around the stadium for the fans too.

Mark Lawrence doesn't think it was a penalty, so it definitely was a penalty.

I’m glad Umtiti hasn’t had one of those moments for Barca yet
