why do you have to root for France?

Only the French should be rooting for France. Croatia winning would be so much more memorable and fun.

 

You have to think taking Sterling off was a really poor turning point. He was still causing them issues.

 

I'm going for France in the final, I like Mbappe a lot. Win the World Cup, move to Real Madrid. Leave Neymar to "suffer" in Paris.

Yep. Southgates subs were iffy all tournament for me. Didn't have it in him to change a game.

I never get this thought process. If you have to lose, wouldn't you want to lose to the best instead of another loser?

Maybe that's just the LSU fan in me justifying the brutality I experience every year by Alabama but it makes sense to me.

 

Made up for Croatia all the same. 98 was their first world cup and 20 years later they're in the final with a chance of taking the cup home. Incredible.

 

Don't get me wrong, it's not on the level of Kane on corners, but still. Inclined to agree. Also kept too much faith with the same 11. One or two changes to keep things a bit fresher here and there would have made a world of difference I feel.

 

Everyone here is so gutted, but even when we went out, people were singing and chanting and clearly everyone recognises we did better than expected. Hopefully we can build on this but I don't see a better chance honestly.

Watching England this tournament was a lot of fun, and definitely the most positive campaign I've experienced in my lifetime. Southgate the right man going forward too, nothing major needs to change at all for Euro 2020.

Inexperience from the manager and the players was the reason we couldn't make the final - we got our ass kicked in wide areas in the 2nd half and Southgate did not address that quickly enough. Fuck it though, would like to see them give it their all for 3rd place!
