(A note: this will revert to the men's football/soccer thread after the tournament.)

Welcome! Wanted a fresh start now that we're ten days out from the start of the greatest global tournament in the world!

I've set us up a bracket predictor league here: Fifa bracket predictor

If you win that bracket on the global level, there's a trip to Madrid to see an Atleti home game, so thought that was a cool added bonus.

What games are y'all looking forward to the most? Spain-Portugal and Argentina-Iceland are some big ones for me.

First Come, First Serve Betting Pool:

$5 buy-in; to be PayPal'd to the winner/runner-up at the end of the tournament. Will handle all of that via a group private message.

The top sixteen teams will be assigned at random. Top sixteen will be chosen by FIFA rankings. And then the bottom sixteen will be assigned at random. Everyone will have the two teams. If your top 16 team wins, you’ll get 75% and the runner-up gets 25%. HOWEVER. If your bottom sixteen team wins, you get the whole pot. If two bottom sixteen teams make the final, it reverses to the 75/25 split between winner/runner-up.

really wish the mobile site for the bracket predictor was better. hard to imagine it being much worse hah. how do ESPN/Yahoo not have leagues for this?

they probably do, the FIFA one just had that trip to Madrid as a prize and that was cool to me.

if we want to set up multiple predictors through more normal places, we can.

when did he suffer a concussion? i'd also be very scared to know that liverpool's doctor's didn't know about it.

Ramos purposely sabotaging the Liverpool team.

  13. Anyone here keep up with French league at all? Spurs have been heavily linked to Tanguy N’dombele and all I know about him is his awesome YouTube highlight video.

  15. I mean, that’s almost nothing in today’s market. So I wouldn’t hate it considering he’d probably just play in domestic cup games and/or off the bench in league games.

Shaqiri always has a few bangers in him per season.

  17. He’s only 26. I thought he was older. Still time for Poch to put his magic on him.

Pretty proud of England going with such a young and exciting team. That graph puts it in perspective.

Just realized the US is France’s last tune up. We’re gonna get destroyed like 7-0.

Granted, we are giving a ton of young guys chances this summer since every game is meaningless for us. Pretty excited to see how some of these kids develop in the next few years.

Know how much you like Nebraska and LSU style of play... you probably want to root for like Switzerland.
