I just don't understand how we don't have a striker worth a damn. Really is baffling from a development stand point.

 

Netherlands’ quality shone through. USA played into their hands, but can be happy with their overall tournament performance. Based on the squads, I think this is about par.

good strikers are hard to find or develop. A number of other teams are out for the same reason. Germany is exhibit A.

actually, Germany is a great comparison because our back line is trash too.

 

Well it was an ok run and an interesting ride. Berhalter needs to figure out how to get our strikers more scoring opportunities. This has even been in an issue against the mid-tier CONCACAF teams at times during qualifying (especially on the road).

But like Bobby pointed out, this issue is not only in the World Cup. We don't even have a striker that hasn't struggled in CONCACAF qualifying which is not great.
