Would love to see Fifa's reaction to a whole team wearing them, for sure, especially if it was one of the 5-10 favorites.

 

I mean fifa have told Belgium to take the word “Love” off their away jersey and have banned one of their training tops. I wouldn’t be shocked if they disqualified a team if they all wore the armband.

 

That love thing is really strange. Real "Are we the baddies?" vibes from that one.

I'm not sure if they'd DQ them mid tournament, but I suspect they'd mess them up afterwards. Like, if a team had loads of suspensions and couldn't field a full strength team, they'd be charged with bringing the game into disrepute or something and banned from internationals for a couple of years.

It's not like FIFA haven't got form for stupid bullshit like that. Didn't they fine (and maybe ban) Togo when their bus was shot up and they didn't want to continue in the competition they were on the way to?

 

Yeah it probably would be post tournament sanctions. Unsure about the Togo thing, was it FIFA or UEFA that made Dortmund play after an attack on their bus.

 

UEFA made Denmark keep playing after Eriksen died on the pitch, too.

No. It will continue, FIFA will say it’s a massive success and they’ll move on. The time to strip it from Qatar was a decade ago.
