We played a warmup a few weeks ago. I think we won 3-1? Alex Freeman of the US could be one of the ones, depending on what he does going forward/how his time in La Liga goes next season.
In terms of young players making a name for themselves, I just think that’s harder to do. It used to be that you watched a tournament and had genuinely never heard to half the players there, or had maybe only seen them play once or twice. Now, half of them do or have played in the top European leagues, and many more get spoken about with some form of “buzz” online if they’re promising. So the surprise is kind of gone, mostly.
I think Alajbegovic could make a name for himself v the US today, too, but he's been called back to Leverkusen for next season already.
Belgium are so uninspiring. Feels like they rely heavily on Trossard to do it all, and as someone who watched him every week, he’s not really that kind of player.
I really like mora. Seems like he’ll be the heartbeat of that Mexican national team for the next 15 years if he stays healthy.
As a US fan, I want this to go to ET and Belgium to squeak it out because I think they’re worse. As a sports fan, I want Senegal to win.
So funny that Lukaku has come on, done nothing but walk about for 35 minutes, and then scores a really good finish lol
