When they decide they want to go forward, they look like they're playing a different game to everyone else.
France were obviously very good in that game, but that was such a weird performance from Sweden. Their defensive tactic appeared to be to play dead so as to not cause further aggression. It was like they had no belief they could do anything at all about it.
We (me, my fiancée, and several family members) came to Chili’s to watch the Mexico game. Now the game is delayed, everyone is done eating and we seem to be the only ones here for it lol
Hincapie was an absolute walking red card in that match. Surprised it was only for covering his mouth in the end. Still love the guy.
England are scraping past DR Congo 1-0 AET, and then losing 3-0 to Mexico in the Azteca, I can see it now.
^ i hope not but we'll see. Starting my day and off to the game for my first world cup experince! Whatever happens, im excited.
Mexico is undefeated (6W, 4D) in the World Cup at Azteca, but its overall stats there are mind boggling. Nothing like elevation and smog. “Mexico holds a staggering all-time competitive record of 70 wins, 17 draws, and only 2 losses in 89 matches at Estadio Azteca. Across all matches (including friendlies), Mexico has played nearly 150 games at the venue, suffering defeat just eight times. The two historic competitive defeats at "Fortress Azteca" were: 2001 (World Cup Qualifier): 1-2 vs. Costa Rica 2013 (World Cup Qualifier): 1-2 vs. Honduras”
Paulo Wanchope was still playing for Costa Rica, which will make it much more relative to English fans.
I'm gonna be out of town Sunday. Hopefully I can still find a time and place to watch Mexico's next match Imagine if they win though
