The better team definitely won in the end, but their captain is also on trial for rape, which is somehow never mentioned during their games, so like… eh.
There have been so many times I’ve thought the times scheduled for games have been stupid this tournament, but the fact that the three games each day are at different times all week is so dumb. Just make it so I know every day I need to watch at three start times consistently.
i chose an amazing day to be off from work (i didnt choose, im off mondays) and dedicate my off day to beers and soccer. Went to a cool soccer friendly location in charlotte for morocco v netherlands and it was LOVELY! About 20 morroccon fans, 20 netherland fans, going nuts the entire time. back to work tomorrow but very fun stuff!
Can't decide if waking up and seeing Germany and Netherlands out is like Christmas morning or whether this is a terrible portent for tomorrow night. Not totally surprised Germany went out having seen how naff that game was, but really didn't expect Netherlands to be stopped so soon.
Once again I am here saying that stutter run ups are incredibly dumb lol. That said, apparently Paraguay delayed his penalty by 86 seconds, which feels pretty unfair.
What’s wild is, like 8 seconds before the goal happened on that screen, some dude in the back of the crowd cheered - his feed on his phone was ahead of the big tv, so we heard they scored first before the crowd saw it, lol
