Paraguay knocking out Germany for sure. Probably Norway eliminating Brazil for more casual watchers but a lot of us fancied them for that.

Despite being scared of France the whole tournament, it really goes to show that every team is just one bad game away from going out at this stage.

Now I’ll be legit happy for any team remaining. But we all know they want Messi-Yamal

Spain was #1 coming into the WC right? I could've swore I remembered that. Spains been strong throughout it all I just think France showed more dominance.

    ....until today lol.
Oh shit, Paraguay and Germany that seems a world away lol. That was so long ago it seems! Yeah I think that's bigger now that you mention it.

And as much as I love me some Brazil, I knew that wasn't gonna happen lol.

Massive credit to Spain. France looked like 1970 Brazil up to this match, and the Spanish suffocated them. Their discipline, composure, organization was remarkable. I’m sure if the USA got through against Belgium the Spaniards would’ve embarrassed us even moreso.

Don't say that as I was believing England wouldn't be up against the refs.

Messi to end his world cup career with finals against the 2 young stars who may someday challenge his legacy? Sounds too perfect...

I don’t think it’ll be the refs. I think it’ll just be England being a little battered up where it matters.

They can prize them from my cold, dead hands.

Until tomorrow, when I will go back to truly not caring.

  15. Very excited for today’s game. Probably my two all-time favorite players (Bale is the only other in the same tier) going at it as captains in a WC semi-final. I’m so torn on who I want to win, but I think I’m leaning England since Argentina got theirs last time.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I'm bricking it. I want the win so badly, but last night was a reminder that everyone left is very good, which makes it very hard to feel confident about any result.

Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

I really, really, really hope we batter Argentina tonight.

It's such an incredibly unlikeable team (apart from Messi) and their fans have been the absolute WORST at this WC.

Dembele (and Mbappe) played himself out of the Ballon d’Or yesterday so you can probably assume it’s Kane’s to lose at this point. No one else in Europe comes close.
