So are you sleeping tonight after a game like that or are you just powering through because there's no way you're coming down from a high like that?
i don't really wanna go bed but i probably should since i do have work tomorrow but honestly might just start giving customers money out the till to celebrate (IF MY EMPLOYER SEES THIS I AM JOKING PROBABLY)
Cool cool Just out of curiosity where do you work and how can I become a customer? (Today should really be a holiday in the UK cause I imagine 50% of the country is in the same boat that your are)
i work in an Express branch of a big English supermarket that i will not directly name because they probably got wastemen name searching themselves on music forums just to get me in trouble, just walk in and buy something yeah it's a bit mad that they saw the late kick off being schedule and didn't plan around the chance of a win and everyone still being up/at the pub until 4 or 5am but whatever, I've been seeing a lot of stores or businesses just aren't operating until later in the day to accommodate (no such luck for us, typical 6am open 11pm close, but my shift isn't until 1pm anyway so i'm sound either way)
I'm in a unique position, I guess, as I work for myself but I'm on a meds cycle that I didn't want to interrupt so I went to bed early last night. But yeah, there will be lots of people powering through their shifts today. I suppose the adrenaline will get them through? lol
6 minutes this WC. Just adds fuel to the fire for the dumbasses that are gonna say Palmer/Fosen/TAA should have been on the squad.
Never had a more stressful commute, catching up on that game on the train to work this morning. Also, not sure how I managed to avoid spoilers in big ol' 2026, but COME ON ENGLAND.
Looks like we finally turned up. I really thought I'd be waking up to loads of gloomy England stuff and the red tops hating Germans (more than usual). I've only watched the extended highlights, but Pickford looks like he was back to his best after looking ropey as hell so far. Our defence is just not going to perform in this tournament, so I think we're going to get used to shaking off goals conceded by pummelling the other team's goal. There's not a chance we keep out Haaland for 90 minutes, but fortunately, Norway's defence isn't all that either. Potential for an absolutely epic match. The Quansah red is so unfortunate. God knows where that leaves us at right back for the weekend. I'd put Spence in there now. He seems to be the only one who can withstand whatever curse is on that position.
It's okay lads, the precedent has been set that red cards don't actually matter and any punishment can just be can-kicked down the road. I'd be really worried about losing our only RB otherwise, but very clear precedent that the suspension won't actually be enforced.
The FIFA vs UEFA rivalry is like Messi vs Ronaldo, but they’re both Ronaldo. UEFA statement on the Balogun case That said, FIFA have given them the easiest way to look like the good guys.
That whole business with Ronaldo having his suspension removed for the tournament isn't new though. That's happened before. FIFA have never allowed red card appeals during the tournament (which is stupid in itself).
Pickford was probably the best I've seen him for ages. Set the standard with his save from Jimenez's header early on. I think the VAR decisions are right - Quansah's out of control and above the ankle so red. Kane kicks through Guiterez so penalty.
