I might be out of the loop but what’s actually the precedent for suspended bans? I don’t know that I’ve ever seen one before. I don’t know why they didn’t just rescind it. A yellow during the game wouldn’t have been so crazy, it was a clumsy and dangerous challenge, but no intent.

 

A tangential thing about this whole incident is that it’s absolutely insane there’s no official appeal system built for the World Cup.
