I like this and Happier more than the first batch of singles.

We reach for the longest shadow

I don't keep my ear to the ground with this type of pop often, are there any bands that are similar to what they were doing on You Are Someone Else? That 1975-esque drums and guitar and super poppy vocals? The guitar tone on that album is so fun. Been listening to Swim a lot lately.

  3. Maybe The Aces?

I haven't really revisited their newer stuff, but MUNA may fit as well.

I haven’t liked any of the singles so expectations are suppppper low

Didn't really care for any of this, apart from "Dream"

Same. Fear is interesting but this kinda sucks. So sad - I adored the first album and liked most of lp2

I actually kinda dig this. Doubt they'll ever top their first album but this is fine tbh

I've never been a die hard, so I can't get as disappointed, but I thought this was a breezy, if uneventful, album. Nothing I hate nothing I love

The drop off in quality of this band is insane. Nothing is offensively bad, but everything is so bland and unexciting.

  14. This seems right in line with all their albums to me. They’ve always just been solid pop songs and this seems to keep fitting the bill to me. I dunno, never had this band on any other level so the quality has felt super consistent to me.

I’ll just always be chasing that high of the last chorus of Vanilla when that bass comes in haha. But yeah, out of the new ones WOW and Happier are the closest to what I enjoy from this band.
