Yeah I think we can count on Flatliners, Teenage Bottlerocket and Off With Their Heads since they play every year Souls, Lawrence Arms and Menz would make me extremely happy
For those who have been before, ~ how much does the weekend run you in terms of the ticket + hotel? Trying to see if I can swing this + Riot Fest this year!
Hotel is kind of pricey. It's about $500 for the weekend at Wyndham and about $700 for the weekend at Holiday Inn. If you're going with multiple people it's not too bad obviously Fest wristband is $120 if you buy early 100% worth it to go either way. Beer and food is cheap all weekend. $3 PBR's at every venue
Yeah you definitely need to get with other people for the hotel to save money. They will also all sell out basically instantly so if you do want your own room you need to be on right when they go live.
Think I'm gonna aim for Wyndham this year. The location of Holiday Inn is really convenient but there was literally nothing going on the whole weekend after the fest. I wandered every night and never found a party or anything and I heard Wyndham was wild every night I even thought they would change the descriptions of the hotel this year but it still says Holiday Inn is the party spot
Thanks! Hmm I'll have to see if I can convince a couple friends to fly down and split a hotel. I've always wanted to go so hopefully this the year!
This is easily my favorite Fest line-up in years (and I'm sure there's more to add). Maybe it's because I gave the festival a few years off, but... It's just a decent mix of veteran acts, new blood (both young and old), special sets, etc. Whether I go or not, I'm just really happy that something like this still exists on the level that it does.
Wasn't as impressed with the initial lineup as I was for Fest 16 (Pegboy, Lillingtons, 88 FL blew my mind last year), but definitely still going, it's an awesome / best weekend. Headliners hoping for The Lawrence Arms, Bouncing Souls, not sure if possible. I have a feeling that Down by Law might be playing this year. Def no Alkaline Trio since Blink 182 playing Las Vegas the same weekend :( Touché Amoré and Cobra Skulls (they're playing PRB) Hotels usually sell out instantly and they're still available.
So finally the 2nd announcement is tomorrow morning (Monday 11th) at 9am EST. Feels soooo long since the first announcement. Hoping for some big names in this round.
I am excited for this round of announcements. Buying my ticket tomorrow regardless. Will be my 5th fest. Holding out hope for a Hostage Calm reunion.
Oh wow! Very different roll out from Fest this year. I would say The Menzingers are nailed on to maybe even be a headliner. They playing tonight with Frank Turner in Orlando! Hell maybe even Frank Turner also. Also have read that The Get Up Kids apparently said they have a Florida date lined up but couldn't announce it just yet.
Menzingers just confirmed on stage in Orlando they’re playing Fest. And Frank is gonna be in Europe that weekend.
Goddamn I didn’t expect it to get so much better but I am stoked Larry Arms Menz and TGUK are huge additions
No Gaslight I knew it was a bit of a long shot but I'm still kinda bummed I just hope they do some west coast dates or something...
I mean against me played last year. So it was possible. But I guess they either wanted too much or didn't want to keep playing together all the way through october =/
Against Me is from Florida and tied closer to the Fest than a band like Gaslight. While Brian and Benny have a lot of personal ties to the festival, the band grew too large for the festival over time. Gaslight would have made more sense at Riot Fest if anything. I love the lineup this year. I was excited about the first wave, but the second wave announcement has me even more excited. I'm expecting to have to make some difficult decisions on which sets to catch again.
