Bought that and Staind’s “Break The Cycle” from Circuit City on the same day. Let’s just say one is much better than the other.
One of the best pop punk records of all time. It also came out on birthday (ayyyy) so I remember going to the local record store, shout out Rasputin Records, to buy it on CD as a birthday present. Good memories!
Rasputin rocks. I bought my favorite Sinatra album on vinyl there a few years ago when I was visiting one of my uncles.
Memorial Day Weekend 2001. We had just graduated. Five of us packed into a 1998 four door Chevy Cavalier and headed to the closest mall (Independence MO 90 min away). I bought Lechuza and All Killer No Filler from the Sam Goody. We crammed into one of those tiny photo booths outside the food court that would take and print pictures for a dollar. I can still clearly remember the whole damn day.
Nice! I grew up going to the one near me and eating at Blondie’s pizza after. I bought my very first CD there (Aerosmith’s Nine Lives lol) and tape there (Sugar Ray’s Floored lol)
I listened to Floored a couple years ago for the first time and there's actually a few jaaaams on there haha.
I remember buying Lechuza on CD when it first released (also at Circuit City) and listening to it while painting offices for my cousin so I could get some cash over the Summer. I can still smell the paint fumes when I listen to that album lol It's crazy to me that Will Salazar is out there somewhere not writing music after all this time, or at least he's obviously not sharing any new music these days.
I remember riding my bike to Target on release day to pick this up Sophomore year after I feel in love with the self titled the previous year. Sadly, it didn't do nearly as much for me as that self titled. Also remember picking up Denver Harbour at Best Buy just becuase I saw Fenix TX on the promo sticker for it. Love that album more than Lechuza
LBC mention made me throw on Commitment. Love this record and Throwing the Game so damn much. Closer to Our Graves might be one of my favorite songs ever
That two album run is one of the best in the genre. Just back to back bangers. I could never really get into anything after that in the same way, but those two are next level great.
Oh dude I remember being like whaaaaat when I first heard RPM since the whole record is so different then Fly haha American Pig, RPM, and of course Fly are pretty good for that record/genre IMO
Even 14:59 had some relics from that sound ("Personal Space Invader", "Glory") but once they blew up with the singles, it was over.
Still remember buying that album coming home and putting it on and just having a huge smile on my face that I’d found another band that sounded like that and being obsessed.
