i've been waiting for this for so long

 

This isn't exactly what I expected

 

what were you expecting?

 

upbeat, not as atmospheric and spacey. I'm not saying it's bad at all, but it's unlike his previous work.

 

i think this album is going to be all old songs that sound like this. i didn't like lesser oceans all that much but TTTTT was great. i trust that the rest of this album will be really good

i've waited so long for this and it was worth it

 

He has a new EP and its overproduced to all hell.

 

i think my pale king is one of the best songs he's ever written. although, 3/5 songs has "oh, ________" in the chorus's which get repetitive.

 

Maybe we just want different things from this artist, but this EP feels like a return to form for me. Failure Sculptures was painfully dull for me, and this one is far more interesting despite being half the length

 

but I will agree that the mixing levels on this thing are a bit off

I loved Lesser Oceans and was bummed to see him do a complete detour. I do love Paper Route but most of Failure Scriptures bored me too. This new EP isn’t anything that blows me away, and I agree about the mixing too, but it feels like a step in the right direction?

Lesser Oceans is still his best work IMO

 

To the Tall Trembling Trees EP has some good stuff too.

 

Agree with you on everything here. I should revisit Tall Trembling Trees EP, forgot that one

 

this is surprising to me but only because i hate lesser oceans but think TTTTT was his best work along with this new ep which i think has 2 of his best songs on it.
