Which of these have you not heard? I'll pick three of them for you: Butch Walker - The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Let's-Go-Out-Tonites! Will Hoge - The Man Who Killed Love Logan Brill - Shuteye Charlie Worsham - Rubberband Striking Matches - Nothing but the Silence Mandolin Orange - Such Jubilee Jon McLaughlin - Indiana
Might put together a list and attempt this but mostly just wanna jump on @Craig Manning's endorsement of Shuteye
Get chills just thinking about it. I have no idea what she's been up to lately, but I really want another album from her. She's one of my big "why isn't this person a superstar?" artists.
i feel like there have been enough times I've been like "how the hell have you not heard this" but I can't remember just guessing: unwound - leaves turn inside you the stooges - raw power the stone roses - s/t
I’m so happy that this thread is active for the first time in four years. If for some reason you’re having trouble thinking of albums, highly recommend searching the #MWE hashtag on Twitter to see others’ lists. Some other good sources are NPR’s list of 150 great albums by women, Pitchfork’s Sunday Reviews archive, and the “Definitive Albums” thread here on Chorus! Also, put Destroyer’s 2011 album Kaputt on your list because it is perfect.
Not really a traditional source but Autostraddle does some EOTY lists and monthly round-ups for queer and trans musicians that I pulled from for some of my list if anyone is looking to diversify in that regard

I’ve heard and liked Los Angeles. I know this one isn’t as beloved as Wild Gift but a song from it popped up somewhere and it really wowed me.
OK, I'm aiming to get up to speed with the canons of hip-hop and metal, so this is the list I'm running with. Probably a lot of "how have you never heard that" in there, but thats what I'm here for. Open to any edits at this stage, particularly when it comes to the metal albums.
