Can was not my bag. Moving on, I accidentally listened to Serge Gainsbourg directly after it and I was not paying close attention, lol. It as pleasant enough I guess!

Day 8 was Black Sabbaths debut from 1969. Supposedly recorded in just 12 hours, and basically done live, so has this rough lo fi edge to it that makes it seem even spookier.

It does seem unbelievable that this was released in the 60s, it feels so ahead of its time, taking psychedelic and blues rock and just making them that little bit scarier and dirtier, and influencing basically any heavy music that came after it, almost without exception.

It’s a little uneven perhaps from a songwriting perspective, but when it hits , it’s phenomenal.

Ege Bamyasi is pretty much a perfect record imo

yeah sabbath's debut is probably their worst of the first five albums, but it's still a blast

listened through the first half of Aerosmith's debut album today and didn't finish it off, not a whole lot that's captivating about the band in their very early stages, and Dream On sticks out like a sore thumb on the album, way better than anything else. Toys In The Attic, Pump and Get A Grip are the obvious career highlight albums for me

I like the kind of undercooked garage rock of that one explicitly because it’s the only time.

Plus “Mama Kin” is a huge staple hit if you’re a Bostonian

Yeah, I jumped to Mama Kin because I knew it by name as well, that was good. It's so bizarre to me though, I legit was looking up if they had a second singer for the record because Steven Tyler barely sounds like what he sounded like for the majority of their career, I honestly find it hard to picture him as the singer in many of the songs I heard.

It is crazy how much his tics and stylistic flourishes cohered between that record and Get Your Wings, where they’re in full swing.

Never would have thought to call “Lodi” a favorite but I go back to it more than probably any other CCR track besides “Up Around the Bend” so I guess it is

It sounds virtually identical to "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" in many places.

Doing two again today and I'll finally be caught up. Today I'm doing Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique and Shad's TSOL.

Wire's Pink Flag is really great. I can't shake the use of Lowdown in Ossos, which I just watched. I should check more of their stuff out. I feel like I tried them and The Fall when I was younger and trying to get more into post-punk and they didn't do much for me, but I'm enjoying it.

Shad's music after TSOL is better, "Melancholy and the Infinite Shadness" is a great, quick EP and "Flying Colours" is a much more diverse album

Honestly maybe the best EP I’ve ever heard in any genre?
