I listen to sooo many wrestling podcasts it makes it so damn difficult to catch up with other podcasts of other interests. I don't have too long of a commute nor much free time to just enjoy them
My rotation: Effectively Wild: The Daily Baseball Prospectus Podcast Dear Hank & John Cortex Hello Internet This American Life Radiolab 99% Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People (absolutely fantastic) Encore The Ezra Klein Show (really good) Vox's The Weeds Also still working through Professor Blastoff episodes.
I've been a huge Chris Gethard fan for about 2 years now and i'm finally getting around to listening to Beautiful/Anonymous and i fucking love it. I guess it's kind of expected that i'd love it though, given that this is definitely not unfamiliar territory for anyone that has been watching TCGS for awhile. Gethard really is the absolute perfect person for this podcast concept.
Just went on a subscribing binge after going through this thread. My rotation before those podcasts though were Accidental Tech Podcast, Bill Simmons, Channel 33, Cheap Heat, Encore, Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, The Steve Austin Show, Talk is Jericho
Shameless promo but I interviewed Chris Hansen a year ago today Kill The Music Podcast #74 Chris Hansen
Hey I'm skimming through this thread and can't find what I'm looking for... Heard there is a really good podcast that recaps some conflicts like WW2 and stuff. Which pod am I looking for?
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History maybe? He did a series on World War One and one specifically about the Eastern front in World War Two. A good chunk of them are free but the rest are like a dollar each from his website.
yeah, all of the newest two series or so are free for Hardcore History. I think right now it's Blueprint for Armageddon (WWI) & King of Kings (persia)
Just yesterday started listening to The Record Podcast with Nick from drmanhattan. A lot of fun. Episodes with Casey Bates and Nic Newsham were often hilarious. Also recently listened to the first time to Song Exploder and The Accidental Creative, enjoyed those a bit too. Favorites are still The Briefing with Albert Mohler, Encore, Ask Pastor John, Noise Creators, Reel World Theology and Reformed Pubcast.
I think you'd really enjoy the Reel World Theology podcast. You can do what I did, just scroll through its 100+ episode history and listen to episodes about movies you loved. It got me hooked. Really great panel discussions about movies, spoiler-heavy analysis, different guests each episode.
I've actually got a ton of those ones saved, just haven't listened to any yet. the list just keeps growing. added Ask Science Mike & Imaginary Worlds over these last few weeks, as well.
I'll have to check out some of your recommendations! A few I'm not familiar with. I will say, the absolute best episode of Reel World was on the film Calvary. If you haven't seen it, I couldn't recommend it any more. And then the podcast episode is the perfect supplement to the film.
If you have time, please let me know what you think! I'd love to talk about the film by itself, but I'd especially love to talk about it in terms of the podcast.
A Dose of Terror Podcast over at doseofterror.com and featured at Dreadcentral.com. It's a new horror podcast that features new releases and themed shows. Only been a couple of episodes so far but they're getting their shit together. Plus it's my podcast, so there's that.
I'm going to be making a list of my favorite podcasts this weekend and publishing here and on my Medium profile.
Hey guys, i'm packing for a 6 hour trip tomorrow morning.. I don't listen to podcasts a lot, but i was looking for any recommendations to pass the time. I've already listened to Serial, so maybe something that along the lines of that, or political humor podcasts. Thanks!
