Lately I've been listening to:

Heaven's Gate (Pineapple Street Media) - about the suicidal cult of the same name

The Future of Everything (Wall Street Journal) - takes a short dive into current/near future science and tech such as smart guns, brain implants, manufactured meat, artificial intelligence, etc

Harry Potter and the Sacred Text (Panoply)- dissects HP books chapter by chapter through the eyes of a theme like courage or loneliness etc. Technically a "religious" podcast but it's not overly religious if that scares you off

Best Episode Ever (Cracked) - discusses and tries to figure out the best episode of well loved tv series. So far they've done Friends, 30 Rock, Adventure Time

 

Give this a listen if you need a good laugh. The Green Day episode had me rollin'

Your Favorite Band Sucks | A comedy podcast about overrated bands.

 

I'll be listening to all of these, even though I love a lot of these bands.

 

Hahaha, this Interpol one is killing me.

 

I've never listened to this podcast before, but I'm gonna check it out. I've been listening to another show that's pretty similar, you guys should check it out...

YFBS is literally therapy for me. They do a fair amount of research each episode so they know what they're talking about.

 

Atlanta Monster is really well done. For people into serial / s-town style pods.

 

just finished editing the first ep of my new pod called Soundtrack to Your Life! the theme is basically making an “album” of your most important songs, so either your 12-14 faves, favorites from different periods of your life, or however you want to go about it. and making them in a cohesive flow like an album or mixtape. and then basically just discussing the guests choices. gonna put it up thursday morning i think. hmu if you wanna guest for an ep!

 

first episode is live on itunes, google play, stitcher, etc. and on overcast! hope you enjoy!!

Gave it a listen at work today. Nice job. I think I like the concept. It at least got me thinking how I would approach the task. I’m also curious what your list is.

In terms of the content, only thing I found odd were the very brief song snippets. I personally would have either let them go a little longer or just not done them. I get you probably wanted to keep things closer to an hour though.

 

yeah it was more for a time crunch, im planning on longer clips when we don’t have the longer intro thing

I always want to start a podcast but then I realize I don’t have a subject in mind so I end up not following through haha.

 

so i just started MBMBAM and i don’t know why i put this off for 8 years.

 

Yeah it can be a bit overwhelming at first but I think you're on the right track. Just pick a topic and then most podcast apps have a most popular list in that genre so just pick a popular one and give it a shot. You obviously like this site so maybe try the Chorus podcast called Encore. If you're a soccer fan try Men in Blazers. If you're a TV fan there's a lot of podcasts about tv shows, etc etc. I'm listening to a podcast about the first season of Westworld cause I'm pumped for season 2 next month. So just pick a topic and go for it haha.

 

I think he meant start his own podcast.
