I think a common element to the majority of my favorite foods is that I like that roasty-ness where you get or start with dank sauces, pastes, gravies, curries, moles, broken down fats etc.
The food threads are the best threads on this site. Another favorite of mine is any kind of fermented vegetable.
Hainanese Chicken Rice. And giardiniera. I ordered 3 bottles of it off amazon and inexplicably the package included floss picks.
Eggplant anything really. Parmesan, moussaka, vinete or baba ghanoush, Thai basil eggplant, the list is endless.
I was going to say this a few pages ago!!! My recreations at home have been surprisingly close, but nothing beats the real thing.
Me too, it’s absolutely necessary. The sauce place right across the aisle from them is also fantastic.
