I used to like this guy. This new shit really kinda makes me wanna die

 

Album does get pretty depressing.

The tragedy of listening to this and wasting time online at the same time has got me dying.

 

What a gorgeous, dense record. Gonna be revisiting this almost daily until the end of the semester.

 

This is certainly one of the most singular and conceptually ambitious in a while. It's very apocalyptic.

 

hearing it's pretty dark has me hoping he'll go back to his J. Tillman sound again, too.

I would kill for a whole album in the style of Total Entertainment Forever and Ideal Husband.

 

I thought and hoped when I first started listening that it would be a "Total entertainment" style record.

 

I can't even pretend to have a realistic grasp on most of this record but I can say without a doubt that "leaving L.A." Is an absolute masterpiece of writing. Wow

Nah, this isn't true.

I don't think this will affect the record, thankfully. Because a lot went into it and it's such a special piece. I'm excited people are hearing it and it's provoking big reactions either side of the fence.

 

The end of "The Memo" gives me chills.

Will be listening to this all day at work.

i got a bottle of bourbon on my way home from work yesterday so i could get drunk by myself and listen to this

in true FJM fashion I got waaaay too drunk and started complaining on the internet

 

every song is arranged so beautifully

 

All the lyrics are up on genius too

 

I've never been able to get into his other albums but I'm really digging this so far.

 

Man, this is bleak

 

I haven't been able to make it through this both listens now.

 

Huge fan of "A Bigger Paper Bag"; heavenly melodies.
