I have a vague recollection of this guy from before he was a quivering mess of unintentional self-parody. Too bad. "Fear Fun" is a great record still but he lost me after that.
"Leaving LA" sounds a lot like one of the songs he played at XPN. I can't remember if there's any overlap in lyrics from that song and this one but I do vaguely remember "LA phonies and Pitchfork bands."
