That set was amazing. He's such a solid performer and vocalist. I still can't get over how good this album (and Honeybear) are. Was so happy to hear "So I'm Growing Old on Magic Mountain" into "In Twenty Years or So" during that encore, stunning stuff.
Do not miss this tour. He remains one of the best performers I've ever seen and has the best live vocals I've ever seen for sure
Seeing him Tuesday in Detroit for the 3rd time. Weyes Blood was supposed to open but I guess Phosphorescent is now. So fucking stoked to see 2 of my top 10 favorite songwriters play the same show. And yeah, throughout this touring cycle his voice continues to improve. And it was pretty incredible to start with.
I saw him on the honeybear tour and was stunned. He's even better now and his band is huge, strings and horns and all. It's a spectacle
They for some reason never said the name of the movie and he's not listed on this imdb page but I'm pretty sure this is the movie. Feature debut by Drew Pearce, who directed one of FJMs videos.
Saw him at Coachella but I really want to see him again when he's here in like 3 weeks. I'll probably have to go alone though which sucks
Just got out of the Church of Misty, and god damn was it good. He's just getting better and better. It's going to be weird after the last couple theater shows to see him at a festival if that's what he does next year in Chicago (I expect him at Lolla or Pitchfork).
Lol. I went through the main site to check out GA tickets for the show on Saturday and they were $57 (tax included). I checked out Stubhub and got a GA for $14 including tax and fees haha
Tonight was rad. I can’t post it here cause it’s on my story but he came out into the crowd and it was awesome
I really need to see FJM live. I really haven't been able to get into Pure Comedy, but I'm sure seeing the songs live could change that.
I think some of the slower songs definitely work better live. A lot of these songs are very conversational, so it helps having the person speaking to you actually in front of you. I think the message sinks in a little better, plus mixed in with the old jams it feels less indulgent than it does on the album.
Definitely see him live. The Pure Comedy songs translate so well. There are a couple on the album I was pretty ehhhh on but seeing them live they just worked
Chateau Lobby Nothing Good Ever Happens Only Son of the Ladiesman Total Entertainment Forever Holy Shit
That's incredibly hard to answer.. Other than Chateau Lobby that entire list could change depending on my mood.
