weirdly I didn't know Kendrick had a new album out until I saw the Talkin' Baseball podcast post about it
This album is begging to be played in full live. I'm even more mad his tour isn't coming here, although I'm certain there's more in the works.
I'm trying sooo hard not to be hyperbolic (yet) but it's already clear to me that this is a very very special album.
I always mishear lyrics and am disappointed when I realize what I heard and loved wasn’t what was actually being sung. Such was NOT the case with “do the corpse dance.” I guess I’m a FJM fan now.
I did not play this yet but I have played True Affection like 5 times today. The first official FJM song I really like. That’s progress
I simultaneously love several songs across the FJM discography - considering many as all timers - and also can’t fully stand FJM.
I feel like he's leaned on the irony schtick a lot less since Pure Comedy was so divisive and now pretty much seems to just be having fun online
Listened to the latest Cure record followed by this last night sitting next to a fire under the stars and I don't think I'll ever be the same. 10/10, would recommend.
He was just extremely sarcastic, even more so than he is now lol. He's toned it down a lot. I don't think the Pitchfork interview he did did him a lot of favors, or the onstage meltdown he had right before Pure Comedy (though in retrospect, he was totally right for that one). Damn, this sounds amazing.
This record is absolutely fantastic, I was worried after extremely disliking Chloe but this is the one.
