Damn. No one’s talking about the leak yet? Just finished my first listen while I was working on a work presentation. Wasn’t until the last track that I was forced to break my concentration and listen.

I plan on doing another run through while going to zzzzz.

I had no idea it leaked…my old ass wouldn’t even know where to find it haha

 

Damn. That’s so early. I actually cancelled my preorder a couple of weeks ago. I just really do not like “Funny Girl”. “Q4” is better but I’m a little worried tbh. Hopefully they grow on me. It’s the lush Disney strings that are not working for me. He’s deployed that before, but the songs under them were stronger than the 2 we’ve gotten here

I love Q4

 

yeah i'm enjoying both songs so far, neither really blow me away but that's alright.

 

Holy Beatles. Not huge on "Q4" right now, but I adore "Funny Girl."

 

Trying to put my finger on what the chorus reminds me of. A Shins song maybe?

very blown away by Q4. sounds as majestic as honeybear but with a little bit more airiness and...whimsy to it. possibly my favorite FJM song production wise to date id say.

 

sorry to post again but from the moment that guitar hits at 2:50 into the vocal bridge and then that fucking awesome guitar riff which THEN makes way for the string break.. this is some top notch songwriting here and again everything sounds so fucking wonderful. a lot going on but every element has such pristine clarity to it. loving this more than Chloe and glad there will be more upbeat song like this on the record. because i could see a turn into a full album of songs like chloe but the variation across his albums is what has kept him so interesting throughout his career.

Hasn't it been the norm for fjm's albums to leak 2 months early? Like clockwork?

 

i like funny girl more but i like this

 

Q4 is incredible, this is such a fun direction for him

Gonna avoid the leak. Last time this happened to him there was a weird skip on “Hangout at the Gallows” and some other songs and I almost never recovered
