It's a local place so most of you wont get to eat there, but I had the Italian Beef there on Friday and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. The hot peppers were actually hot. The gravy was soooo good. My mouth is watering right now.

Yeah the BK grilled chicken is terrible. And their spicy chicken sandwich is only marginally edible, which is a travesty. Honestly, the chicken patty offerings there are the only chicken sandwiches worth getting (the long boi and the value menu ones).

And you know whose apple pie is actually surprisingly decent? KFC.

 

Yeah the only way I was able to choke down those grilled chicken sandwiches was by adding cheese and putting a bunch of sauce on them. They were maybe the worst fast food sandwich I can think of.

 

I think I tried it once, like when they first "revamped" their chicken sandwiches last year or the year before, it was dry as hell and tasted terrible. Never had it again. Same goes for their spicy chicken, although it's way better than the grilled chicken (low bar though).

 

anything is better than the grilled chicken, but I think all of their chicken sandwiches are pretty lacking. I wouldn't normally go to BK at all, but the line at the taqueria and Jack in the Box were too long and I was in a hurry and it was all that was around.

yeah NOW that Popeye's is straight up beating their ass, NOW they'll stop the donations.

 

Generally he's not wrong. All of White Castle's LTOs are pretty gimmicky and I would never want to order one over the classic slider.

I have to disagree with him, however, where their standard chicken sliders are concerned. Their chicken breast sliders and chicken ring sliders great.

 

Thought the exact same thing. Also I mean yeah this is a good thing for sure but like when you buy a sandwich from them you're still putting money into the Cathys' pockets, and they're still on the record as being anti-LGBTQ bigots.

 

I'm sure they're still putting their money wherever they want it. Just not as publicly, or through the company anymore. Ultimately it's just a marketing ploy and probably makes zero real difference in the end.

 

also, I think rather than just saying "we're open on Sunday" or "we have the best chicken sandwich", if Popeye's really wanted to dig at Chik-Fil-A, they'd donate to gay rights organizations.

 

It definitely matters where the company's money directly goes on some level, but yeah, in the end what's the difference.

 

well it matters where the company money goes, I'm just saying that they're probably still donating just "personal" donations now rather than corporate.

 

Right and that's what I was originally saying, like this is a good thing undoubtedly to some degree but at the same time the Cathys are still making money off of every sandwich sold so it doesn't really change much.
