Haha for the record I think Noel is hilarious but I’m too attached to Mel, Sue and Mary to watch the series without them. Their banter and back and forth was what made the show for me.

 

I watch Bake Off every night

 

He was on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and joked about it himself. Something like “you know what’s funny? I’m a presenter on a baking show. I know fuck all about cakes”

 

I've only watched a few series of the show and started with the latest with Noel and Sandi when it was airing, then watched the comedy one, and now I'm watching The Beginnings series that is on Netflix with Sue. I like them all tbh

 

That’s totally fair, but Sandi is wonderful too! The seasons of QI she’s hosted are so good.

Yeah she’s wicked on that! Maybe I’ll pick it up back up at some point. Kinda difficult with Japanese Netflix because much to everyone’s surprise - it’s 95% anime.

 

Do both. Be better.

 

I love Bake Off so much. Maybe I’ll rewatch the whole thing and get inspired to start baking again

Pastry week is the best week

 

Honestly that's partially why I started watching the series i'm on right now. I wanted to take up bread baking, finally had all the tools and whatnot but last weekend i was too mentally down, but i'm doing alright now and hope to spend time during this holiday weekend.

Time certainly does, no worries. Haven't baked anything yet. My first attempt at sourdough starter didnt quite work, so restarting that tomorrow and then want to bake a simple bread on Saturday.

 

I see now, good luck!! I’ve also been meaning to use up the yeast I have but totally agreed. Motivation is hard to come by haha

I’ve been baking pretty regularly but I need to rewatch some bake off. It’s hard when I don’t have pastries on hand because the cravings are intense!

 

I always get reminded when baking talks happen that my cousin is executive pastry chef for a super fancy casino and I’m like wild

 

My uh... former uncle? (I don't know the term i guess for when your aunt divorces her husband but the family likes him and so he's still involved a lot lol) is a chef and then bakes wedding cakes on the side.

 

I'm honestly shocked you're posting. figured my suggestion would fall on deaf ears

 

I used to buy birthday cakes like on a semi-regular basis at uni cos I fucking love cake and I was a greedy bastard who didn’t care for the curse of buying it when it’s not your birthday
