I honestly thought full metal was absolute pants. And Dunkirk deserves to be higher up imoooo. Thought it was excellent. I don’t be getting the bad rep it’s got here

Dunkirk is great, I agree! There's a LOT of war movies.

i also have no clue what pants means. is that good? is that bad? is it something we put up with because society has made it a requirement but most of us could do without?

It’s best gone into knowing as little as possible! The only thing to keep in mind is that’s it’s pretty demanding and needs your full attention, so don’t try it on a day when you’re stressed and distracted. It’s definitely in the top tier of Netflix shows, probably a fair contender for best they’ve ever done as a whole.

All Quiet On the Western Front is one of my favorite books. I just haven't found a good copy of it online and the DVD on Netflix is always gone. But yes it's very very high on my want to watch list. As far as war movies go it's that and Ran that i want to see next.

 

Most of my favorite war movies are the satires showing how ridiculous and absurd and dehumanizing they are without glorifying it. Or the ones that are focused more on returning to civilian life afterwards. Of the traditional style war story there are only a handful I’ve really connected to.
