This season is okay just not up to Fargo standard. Side note I want that green/brown plaid jacket the one guy wears. It’s dope.
Yeah, that’s how i feel too. It’s an interesting, dark show with a ton of characters moving at a glacial pace, but somehow it just doesn’t measure up to the first three seasons yet. I really do get the sense that Hawley is tired of the project.
Yeah I enjoyed season 3. I also am enjoying this season it’s just not up to the normal standard of Fargo.
I already thought season 3 was a big step down so I doubt I'll even watch 4 based on the reactions in here.
my head says it’s easily 2, but my heart kind of wants to agree with this. Carrie is my favorite cop in the show, Thewlis is my favorite villain, MEW and Ewan both are great in it. Tough to beat.
I regularly forget Carrie was even on Fargo. I thought they totally wasted her I still gotta go 2 > 1 > 3 > 4, unless somehow the next 4 episodes are unbelievably good (which they could be, it feels like this thing is finally starting to kick off)
1=2>3...4, TBD. Seasons 1 and 2 both had heroes that were just as interesting and fully formed as the villains (IMO, obviously) and best captured the spirit of the original film wherein crime and evil spread until they crumble underneath their own weight and destroy themselves while peace and goodness weather the storm and live to tell the tale. Together they tell a complete story that builds off each other to make them a unified whole that is greater than the sum of their individual pieces. Season 3 has some of my favorite moments of fargo (the opening scene, the robot story, the bowling alley, and the ending scene), but I don't think the individual pieces make up a greater whole, as such I find myself enjoying the themes and moments of the season in retrospect rather than while I'm actually watching it. That said, I could definitely understand why it would be someone else's favorite. For me, it's just lacking a certain cohesion that I find difficult to put into words. I still have hope that season 4 will blow my mind with the remaining episodes, but so far I can't help but mourn what appears to me as a waste of potential.
Finally caught up on last week’s. There was some other show on TV for like 120 hours last week so couldn’t really squeeze it in. Anyway I liked the episode and it sure as hell seemed like the final domino for Hawley to stack before knocking it all down. Excited for tonight
Also I think the lack of thick Minnesota/North Dakota accents is playing a weirdly huge role in my agreement with others that this season feels like a whole different show
Easily best of the season since the first episode, super intense for most of the runtime. That finale was awesome
Anyone else notice that Loy’s “it’s the way you’re unfriendly, like you’re doing me a favor” line is verbatim something Milligan says in S2?
I don't think they're even remotely hiding that Satchel is Mike Milligan? Honestly it's so obvious, I'm kind of expecting the twist to be that he isn't. yeah, that was a solid episode. Kind of a bummer that Olyphant is gone...feels pretty wasted honestly.
