I've actually noticed it in every episode so far; where as if the mic sensitivity in the scene is turned waaay up and gets every single sound happening in those few seconds, or instead focuses just on the audio coming from their mouth
I also strongly disagree but glad you're digging it I don't hate it by any means, it's just...average. Which is a bummer because I think the first 2 seasons are some of the best television of all time.
I will say it is on track to be the bottom-ranked season for me at present but it's still immensely enjoyable and is right in line with the base quality level I expect from this show. It's really good so far and I can't wait to see where it's going from here.
Damn sad about Doctor. Idk I personally think this has been really good, but I can see people thinking it’s “slow”. The too many characters argument doesn’t hold weight imo. Each episode has been getting more lean in terms of who were spending time with. Plus s2 was very sprawling like this, and turned out great.
Yeah season 2 had just as many characters as this, if not more, and it’s pretty universally considered the best season so I’m kind of bewildered by that complaint as well. Also it can move as slow as it wants, I love slow burns.
I think maybe the issue is a lot of the characters this season aren’t very interesting. I have zero interest in the mortuary family, the bank robbing sister and most of the Italians. nobody has stood out like Mike Milligan, Varga, Malvo, Hanzee. There seems to be very little flair this season, which is why it doesn’t feel like Fargo to me (other than the cartoon character Italian brother I guess, but that’s a miss for me.)
anyone else have Legion flashbacks at the start when Jeremie Harris' character was running down that colourfully lit hallway with the swinging camera movements lol also hard RIP Doctor Senator, my favourite character thus far. I get the feeling we're about to have a massive switch-up soon in this season, a lot like 3 had
Yeah, the pace is fine and the cast is actually great for the most part, I'm just not very interested in the fates of most of the characters. I've always loved Fargo's 'stories within stories' approach to dialogue but when I don't care about the characters it all just falls flat for me. There's nothing very memorable about any of the villains so far, and good guys haven't done much of anything either. The first two seasons (especially) did a much better job of showing us the nice family dynamic that we'll want to survive the coming violence of the season. So far the best moment of the season was the opening scene with Ethelrida. I wish the season was more focused around her than the crime family disputes that season two handled in a more interesting way. I still have hope it'll all come together in the end though, this season hasn't been bad it just hasnt lived up to my (likely) oversized expectations
Yeah, aside from mmmmaaaybbeee Oraetta (sp?) none of the characters really live up to the top characters of other seasons yet.
Zelmare verbally acknowledged the presence as The Snowman I’m pretty sure, unless she was just taking about something completely different
Echoing a bit of the uncertainty in this season. There are a few really really great characters here but there’s so much happening that it feels like we don’t get to spend much time with them. 4 and 5 were easily the best though so hopefully it keeps with that trajectory. But it definitely does feel like a different show entirely for a number of reasons
I'm still convinced that this season is better than season 3 was (of course we have to wait how the rest of the episodes will hold up). For me however season 1 is still the best one.
2>3>1>4 at this point, for me. I actually am enjoying the story and characters in this season okay, something just feels off where it doesn’t feel as.... confident?.... as the first three seasons did.
