I need to figure out how to get access to HBO again, haha. HBO Go got the yeet last month and I was using someone else’s login. Already pay too much for various streaming services. But once I figure out a way back in, I’ll take the plunge! Didn’t realize it’d been over for so long already — did it end well? Was it cancelled or did it end on its own terms?

 

My wife and I just finished The Leftovers last week, it was incredible.

 

It ended on its own and has a very emotional and satisfying finale. Try to go in as blind as possible

Yeah I would recommend staying as unspoiled as possible for The Leftovers as well. The impact of that show would not have been nearly as great if I had known what was coming.

 

With every fiber of my being, watch the Leftovers (if you’re in a decent emotional space for some really heavy stuff, esp. in season 1).

 

I like that metaphor for Varga, but I think it's implied that technology has been weird around Gloria for quite a while - long enough that she's not surprised by it anymore at least

my interpretation of that throughline is that Gloria actually got an answer when she goes to Los Angeles, just not the ones she was looking for. Zimmerman tells her about the quantum mechanics theory that objects are only observable when they collide; in episode 9, Winnie hugs Gloria and technology works for her again. their literal collision is what it takes for Gloria to realise she does exist in the world again

 

So when’s the new season coming out now? Do we have a date?

 

I’m watching Justified for the first time right now, and agree.

I had high hopes for Justified but i wasn’t that into the first season being a procedural. Been told it eventually moves away from that format though, maybe I’ll skip ahead at some point.

 

The leap from season 1 to season 2 is massive. Season 1 is admittedly kinda unremarkable.

 

Justified started great, remained great through the middle, then ended great. Probably my favorite pilot episode ever, now that I think about it.

Halfway through season 3. Season 1 was very good. Season 2 was UNBELIEVABLE. One of the best tv seasons I’ve ever watched. Season 3 I’m honestly struggling to get through.

Fargo

 

Season 3 is the only season of Fargo I haven't rewatched which is probably partly why it's my least favorite. I'm going to try to rewatch it before the new season to see if it lands better after a rewatch
