I can't imagine I'd ever play him over Ekeler, Gibson, Patterson, Swift or Mitchell

 

Odds are probably not, but, they cut Gordon and Edmonds is probably done for the year functionally...so its Murray and Marlon Mack in that backfield. Swift's been getting less volume, Patterson isnt going off, and Mitchell is still likely in a timeshare with McCaffrey...might be the best opportunity to get a depth piece to account for injuries.

Cause otherwise that #1 waiver spot is only really useful if like Cooks or Henry or someone big like that goes down

Eh, hindsight is 20/20 but I disagree with the “bench players if up going into MNF” stance….the likelihood of a player finishing with negative points is so, so slim. Yeah, it happened last night but it’s such a rare happenstance. If you’re up 1, the chances of a player finishing with negative points are probably the same as not playing that player and then losing on a stat correction later in the week. Both are very rare occurrences. But how mad would you be if you sat a guy only up 1 and then lost later in the week on a stat correction? I'd be way more mad if that happened, then starting a guy and he finishes with negative points.

Plus, a lot of league tie breakers are based on points scored, you always want to score as many points as possible.

That said, if we’re talking about a defense, that’s a different story. Defenses are far more likely to finish with negative points than a player.

 

Yeah, not to wish injury on anyone, but I've been waiting for that scenario all season long. With my luck, I'll waste the Waiver 1 spot on Murray and then this will be the weekend a major RB injury occurs.
