yeah so essentially your bench at the start of the year doesnt matter at all

in that league JK Dobbins was around in like the 10th or 11th so i Just took a shot on him even though hes not fully healthy

another caveat is that its only $100 FAAB, so you have to be careful

 

So in my keeper auction league, I may have a potential trade. I don't know if hte guy is gonna go for it, but he reached out to me lookign for a TE. I have Andrews for dirt cheap this year ($4). This dude is absolutely STACKED with keepers. Like, have no idea how he didn't win the chip last year, I think it was some bad luck with late season performances and some injuries at RB. But basically, he has Digs for $17, Deebo for $16, Jefferson for $3, Chase for $14, AJ Brown for $8, Rashod Bateman for $5, Fournette for $2, and Akers for $2. Our keeper rules are such that he can only keep 3 of those WRs (one WR, one "any position", and one rookie), and only one of those RB's. He could of course use the "any" spot on one of those RBs and keep them both and only keep two of the WRs, but that would be dumb IMO haha. It's a full PPR 10 team league that starts 3 WRs and a flex.

Here's the thing: I have pretty good keepers too! I have McLaurin for $7 and Cooks for $6 as my WR and my any spot, and I can use my rookie spot for $5 Rondale Moore. So, obviously not as good as his, but I felt pretty comfortable with these guys. My RB is probably gonna be $2 Devin Singletary. So I'd have a lot of #2 and #3 WRs or RBs on my roster and a ton of money to buy whatever top guys are in the draft.

But...if I can convince this guy to give me, like, Chase and one of those RBs (Fournette or Akers) for Andrews....I gotta do it, right? Like I can't worry about the fact that it's gonna stack this dude's team to the gills, and I can't worry about the huge downgrade at TE I'll end up with whoever I draft...I still would have to do this trade, right?

I'm aiming for chase here because he's a rookie so I'd be able to slot him into my rookie spot and still keep Scary Terry and Cooks.

 

Yeah, I really like the idea that instead of taking say, Hopkins in the late rounds like in a normal league, you'd take like Snell/Warren in the hope that Najee doesnt go Week 1 or something. And you fill out your bench as the season goes.

 

Funny, as I was reading this, I immediately thought "eh, Moore for $5 is crap if you can get Fournette for $2 instead", before I even got to your theoretical trades.

I like your Chase theory, but, also gotta imagine they want to keep him for that exact reason...you might have to go straight up in that trade. Especially in a 3WR league where you'd have an elite WR1 and two guys who are gonna flirt with being top 12-15 WRs as well.

And then just overpay for a TE in the draft

 

Unfortunately couldn't convince him to give up Chase. Oh well.

So now, I gotta make a keeper decision...do I go with Singletary for $2, or Chase Edmonds for $17? Feels like at this point both of those guys could go for more than those tags. Was feeling pretty good about not keeping Edmonds for that price, and then teh Dolphins cut Michel. Now I'm not sure what to do

 

Ugh...ended up going with Edmonds. Rough choice but ultimately felt like there's a big chance Edmonds goes for a bunch more than this in this league with all the buzz he's had this preseason whereas Singletary has kinda sorta flown under the radar. Won't get him for a $1 again but gut feeling is there's a chance he goes for single digits again

 

Guy in one of my leagues autodrafted and somehow ended up with Allen and Herbert 10th and 11th overall in a snake draft lol

 

A kid in my league, not on auto draft, purposely used his 2nd and 3rd picks on Allen then Herbert. Literal waste of a pick haha

 

Allen went second overall in my draft which allowed me to get Ekeler at 3 lol.

 

How do y’all feel about Godwin this year? There’s a small chance I might be able to trade Godwin/Ertz for Gabe Davis.

I don’t have a backup TE but I also picked up Ertz off free agents. I could still roll Albert O, Everett, Njoku, etc.

 

Godwin might have a slow start but I nabbed him in the 6th in one of my league and I couldnt be happier

feel like by like mid-October people are gonna be like how the fuck did this guy last so long

tbh I think the Gabe Davis hype is a little overboard at this point

 

Yeah I’m in the same boat, got Godwin in the 7th and was like ????

I do want Davis and a piece of the Bills but I don’t want it to come at the expense of Godwin. I’m trying to find a way to get him lol

 

Should I be excited about the potential of a healthy Cam Akers ?
