8 team PPR, drafted Monday

 

So...this draft ended up going about as beautifully as possible. Dudes in this league really reached on some players, especially the ones that have been subjected to pre-season hype, allowing some ridiculous players to fall into our laps. Gonna post it later when I have service.

So this is how this draft went…we had 5th overall pick

The way this draft fell to us was nuts. I’m not even the biggest Henry or Hop fans (woulda preferred if DK or Ridley fell to us there tbh), but getting those guys there even is a little crazy. Henry makes some sense since it’s PPR but still. Did not expect Keenan to still be there at our 3rd pick, but also understandable. But Evans in the 4th really didn’t expect, and then Julio was literally a pure “we absolutely do not need this guy in the least and we should probably draft a RB or QB but he shouldn’t be here at this pick” pick. We were hoping to get Mostert and Sermon with the next two picks but sermon actuslly went a pick before our Mostert pick, so we took him and then snagged Brady with the next pick, he was the last of the top 9 QBs still there and we were much happier taking him over rolling with one of the next tier.

We then proceeded to load up on RB dart throws to make up for the Mostert injury history, just gonna hope one of them hits.

 

I have the third pick in my first draft tonight, do I go Kamara if he's there at the presumed spot?

I think this might be the best I’ve ever drafted even though I still didn’t really know what I was doing. Pay league helped me research a tiny bit but…thoughts? 10th pick, 10 team league.

 

This Austin Ekeler sudden DNP with a hamstring injury is extremely NOT what I want to hear lol

Only hope is he tweeted a hype video saying he’ll be out there like an hour before the injury was reported. That dude is super locked into the fantasy community so I hope that was him pre-warning us not to worry. Gotta hope!

 

Just finished up my auction draft for my main league....ugh. Pretty disappointed overall. A couple of guys I liked getting at the price I got them, but overall...bleh. Left $9 at the end, after getting outbid for Evans and Julio earlier in the draft.

 

Auction drafts seem fun but also brutally stressful haha

I just know I’d try to save money too much and end up with Russell gage as my WR1

 

It's a keeper league as well so I went in with some decent players, but also a lot of guys were kept and the options were limited. Last year I played it right in the draft and spent big in the right places, but this draft I feel like I shied away too much from high prices for guys and then ended up going bigger than I wanted for Hopkins. I gotta wait til the commish enters the rosters to post it but yeah. Just very bleh.

I was pretty happy to get Miles Sanders at $17. I think the hate has gone too far there, so that cheap I am happy with. I think part of hte reason why I'm so disappointed is almost every year I make it a point to draft at least two #1 WRs and that didn't happen this year. A lottttttttt of guys were kept, and then I got outbid for the Mike Evans/Julio Joneses who are borderline #1s. Like, I'd be much happier with Robby Anderson as my #3 than 2. And don't like annnnny of my WR 3s right now. Those were just the guys that were left at that point. Gonna throw Thomas on the IR and hope he comes back strong in Week 7.

Just absolutely kicking myself that I ended the draft with $9 left over when I could have bought Evans or Julio with that money.

 

Dropped Gus Edwards. Picked up Ty’son Williams in my one league.

 

The 16 team draft was a doozy. Ended up going zero RB, somewhat by chance. I had traded down from 3 to 8 in the first, and this league is in its very first year of doing .5 PPR, so RB-centric history and even more so being a 16 team league. So at 8, I had to go WR or reach for a Gibson/Harris, and it started a zero RB strategy.

I’m contemplating grabbing Murray. I’ve seen people say he would fit in the role Edwards was going to have better than Williams.

Longer term, probably Murray at slightly higher volume than he got in NO last year. More a question if Bell has anything left on who will get the volume

 

Should I drop Singletary for Latavius?

 

Opponent had Mike Evans and Bucs D/ST so they're off to a very bad start. You bet your ass if I'm sitting pretty after the main slate of games, I'm gonna get weird and flex Ty'Son Williams over David Montgomery just for fun
