I picked up GB on defense, but N.O and Denver are still on the wire. All good matchups, anyone have a preferred?

 

Does anyone run an ESPN league who can maybe offer some insight? I texted our commish and was kind of feeling it out by saying "hey I just noticed week 14 is the last regular season matchup, did we gain a week since the NFL expanded to 18 weeks? I'm just trying to keep my season alive." And he responded that he honestly didn't even think about it and that we'll look into it for next year. My question is, is it too late to make the change to either extend the regular season to week 15 and/or expand our playoffs to top 6 teams make it (top 2 with a bye)? I'd like to know if that's even an option before I push for it

 

Also really sucks if this is my last week cause I have some taaaaaaasty matchups

 

I'm in an ESPN league but I'm not commish. I know the schedule is easy enough to change because the final week we do a battle Royale week where the top half of the league in points that week get a win, not head to head. But I don't think you can add now.

 

I'm not a fan of changing anything mid-season. My friends and I have been in a league together dating back to 2009...anytime a mid-season issue is brought up, we've always agreed to make the change for the following season, and not change it mid-season.

And honestly, if people didn't realize the impact of the extra week before the season, that's a huge oversight.

 

Like, adding an extra week now, in week 14 is totally unfair. How would the 5th and 6th seeds act who may be a lock to make the playoffs in a 14-week season, but now all of a sudden have to deal with a 15th week out of the blue? It could be advantageous to some, and not others. So therefore, there should be no change made at this point.

My biggest gripe with my league is there is no IR spot. I've had 6 players on IR this season. My entire bench, at one point, was guys on IR and I couldn't drop any of them (well, I eventually did out of necessity to field a starting team). I asked my friend/Comish to consider adding IR next year. It would have been unfair to all of a sudden add it, mid season to solely benefit me. I mean, it could benefit everyone, but the purpose of changing it right then and there would have solely been to benefit me, and that would have been unfair.

That's just one example, but mid-season (at this case, end of season) changes aren't a good idea imo.

 

Anyone else despise reading “sell” articles, especially literally in week 14?

Nobody is selling George Kittle, Josh Allen, Jonathan Taylor, Austin Ekeler.

Ugh and it looks like Cook is going to play tonight but I'm not sure in what capacity so now I'm not sure what to do with Mattison, do I play both of them?? I have 2 flex spots available, CEH in 1 and Gallup in the other, would ya'll play Mattison over either? Also have AJ Dillon my on bench so he could slot in over one of them as well

 

We locked the playoff seeds. Our Wildcard WAS week 14, and with the bye weeks we wanted to move that back a week. Everyone gets to play a rather meaningless but extra game. We edited the schedule to make it "hate week" and everything. It's been fun. We're in a pretty cutthroat league but everyone agreed there shouldn't be bye weeks during the playoffs.

 

Gallup probably won't see as many targets now with Cooper and Lamb healthy. I'm not sure I'd play Mattison if Cook ends up starting, Unlike the Henderson situation last week, I don't see Vikings activating Cook just to sit on the sideline. If Cook plays, I think he'll be full go.

I know Dillon splits time with Jones, but GB has been relying on Dillon more and Jones is always banged up. Personally, I'm starting both CEH and Dillon this week.

 

GB is smart to rest Jones for the playoffs honestly.

 

Is Hasty worth picking up/playing if all other SF rbs are injured?

Currently, I'm starting Hunt, CEH, Dillon

I like all those options over Hasty.

Also, if Henderson misses again, I'm going Sony over one of the above 3.

Do I start Mattison in a standard league FLEX or one of the bottom 2 guys and hope Mitchell ends up playing?

EDIT: Julio and AJ Brown are also on my IR and I think at least Julio is supposed to return so that’s an option too

I hate starting Mattison but I mean those other 2 options are kind of doo doo

 

I would put Jefferson over Gage. Freeman and Williams are really close but i think Williams has more upside

 

i'm glad i saw this thread bumped i've been dealing with work shit this evening and still had mattison in from last week assuming cook was still out..lol.

Was considering not starting Cook tonight as I didn't trust his health. Glad I rethought that decision
