my work league this year just switched to a eight team format. im the commissioner so I tinkered with the settings a bit to make it somewhat more strategic and less loaded teams hopefully? I had a flex spot (so there are now two total), and there are only five bench spots so hopefully people don't hoard players.

No, but things got derailed quickly because two guys autodrafted for most of it

 

Should I be ok or happy with is ? I don't seem so thrilled about it.

 

Had my 12 team keeper draft last night. Not thrilled with the results. Waller was my keeper.

 

Is this a 6 team league? Wtf lol

It's a 8 team league, I don't know, I always feel underwhelmed lol.

 

hard to judge 8 teamers since everyone has an all star team

all my analysis is based on 12 team leagues tbh

 

What are your thoughts on Gaskin going forward?

 

I think he will end up being a top 25 back if he stays healthy....definitely an easy flex starter week to week

Flores praised his pass pro today unprompted which means he will likely get the 3rd downs, at least to start

 

So as a backstory this is a mostly for fun league with friends, I've finished 2nd like 4 or 5 times and finally won it in 2019, we held off last year. So I decided to kinda mess around and go with an entirely different strategy this year.

I always got caught picking scraps at QB because they all start a run on it WAY too early. My attitude was I can afford to reach a bit at QB, get the premium points there, and being able to draft better depth will make up for it. So here's where I ended up. 10 teams half PPR, 3 WR start. Picked #2)

QB: Allen (drafted at the 2/3 turn)
RB: Cook, Montgomery, Davis, Harris, Hines, Ty'Son Williams
WR: Ridley, Kupp, Julio, Cooks, Callaway, Sanders
D: LAR

Least favorite pick is Montgomery followed by Cooks. Both times had guys I really wanted go off the board in the 2-3 picks before me and had to settle.

 

No TE?

 

TE can play in the flex slot but no dedicated TE spot

 

I did a 8 team mock draft tonight to prepare for my works draft tomorrow (I picked 8th)

Kind of wild to go into a draft where you could legit take 4-5 RBs before you take a WR, or vice versa, and its not a bad strategy. Also got a little lucky that because we had 2 owners screw up taking control of their teams, I had to unlock the league, which f'd the draft order, and it got randomized, so I picked 7th instead of 10th. Makes a BIG difference for RBs

 

Also, rounds like 9 and on were the least Ive every felt confident in who might be a late steal or not. That RB25+, WR30+ range where you want to find the next James Robinson or Justin Jefferson...legit felt like a dart throw to me

 

This was me picking Marquez Callaway. Putting your faith behind Jameis Winston in the year 2021 is some sort of feeling

 

This is basically my Russell Gage theory too...which is "offense likely to throw a lot + possibly trailing often = enough targets to pull flex value"

 

Brave man drafting Russell Gage.

 

Certainly not expecting him to play, but, he finished last season strong (top 20 WR in the final 4-5 weeks of the season)..he seems far and away the #2 WR there (though obviously Ridley and Pitts are gonna get way more targets)...but the real theory is that the atrocious defense is gonna make their offense a garbage time factory. Basically a classic "draft a Jags WR" theory

 

I don't think we're going to hold a team to under 30 this year so good call.

 

As someone who owned Matt Ryan a few times in the last 5 years, he was a garbage time king on a lot of occasions.

I have my first big money draft for the team I comanage tonight. 12 teams, PPR, randomized order gave us pick 5. Strong chance we go RB and then WR/WR/WR
