My draft is tonight!

Of course my freakin friend who is commissioner is trying to pull a fast one and drop out of the league day of with some bullshit excuse all because we know he’s mad he doesn’t have a 3rd round pick.

 

Had the 9th pick

 

I bet Mahomes went in the 2nd!

 

In all seriousness gonna be rough figuring who to play with all those bench WRs

 

This happens to me every year lol I always end up with stupid WR depth but usually injuries even things out within a few weeks.

This is also the first time I remember having 3 legitimate "bell-cow" RB's though, pretty stoked on that.

 

Alright getting to be crunch time with who I gotta pick to keep in this new big money league I'm in.

It's 16(!) teams, .5 PPR (first year they're doing that apparently). One round penalty for keepers. Can't keep guys drafted in the first 3 rounds, but if a guy drafted in the 4th gets kept and goes up to round 3 and then round 2 etc that's fine. We MUST keep at least 2 guys, can keep 3 MAX, can't keep more than one at each position.

I did some draft pick swapping in a trade for Chase Edmonds, but besides those rounds where picks were swapped (1, 4, 6), I have the 3rd pick draft slot in a snake. (So, for example, my round 2 pick will be pick number #30 overall of the draft). I'll be keeping Chase Edmonds as my 11th round pick.

So, who else do I keep? Draft pick they would take up in parenthesis. As far as I can see, these are the only guys who might be somewhat near the ADP they'd otherwise go.


Kirk Cousins (9th, 131st overall)
Marquez Valdez Scantling (11th, would bump Edmonds up to my 10th rounder)
Nelson Agholor (12th, 190th overall)
Robert Tonyan (12th, 190th overall)

So...what do I do? Tonyan seems like the best value but also don't know if I'd even go into the season with him as my starting TE hah

even if you dont want to have him be your starter, 190th overall is great value...his ADP is right around 100

 

Do I also keep Cousins? His ADP according to the aggregate on fantasy pros is 144, but almost definitely will have more than 13 guys ranked above him kept, so he'll be much closer to that ADP most likely

 

I would never ever ever never ever play in a 16 team league lol

 

I never thought I would either tbh. I think it was just the allure of it being a big money buy in league and my degenerate gambler gene kicking in haha

 

12 person keeper league (keep 1). I landed 11th pick which I was NOT thrilled by (I also didn’t have a 6th round pick).

I was on the clock in round 8 when the Dobbins injury happened lol needless to say I took Edwards

 

I was super close to getting Edwards too in the later rounds ughh

 

My fiancé drafted JK Dobbins approximately 10 minutes prior to the injury. Ugh. Had her get Gus ASAP.

 

12 teams, 0.5 ppr, picked 12th. Kept Jefferson round 3.

WR- Jefferson, Claypool, Waddle, M. Brown

Don't like my WR depth at all but hopefully can swing a trade considering my RB depth

 

What do we think Edwards value is right now?

Might try to package him for a WR upgrade

 

I would say VERY high.

Dobbins is a 2nd round pick and for some players their RB1 and he’s obviously a great player, but his situation is solid on that run heavy offense.

Gus is also pretty damn good of a runner and it seems like we are talking about season ending surgery. Gus will be a rock steady RB2 with RB1 potential.

 

Yeah, Gus was gonna be a flex potential play most weeks even with Dobbins healthy. Now, its not crazy to think he'll be in the top 10 RBs. Only thing he doesnt have is PPR ability.

 

Yeah, looking at that roster, Claypool is a great WR3/Flex for those blowup weeks, but relying on him entirely as your WR2 feels like it has too much downside.

Plus you have Jones/Singletary...the kind of guys who are also a RB injury away from being edge RB2s

 

Might start by offering Gus for Mclaurin to the Dobbins owner

His next best RB after Kamara is Philip Lindsay with Dobbins out lol

 

I feel extremely giddy going into this season with Josh Allen and Trey Lance.

I really never draft a backup QB, but I’m in a keeper league and Lance lasted until the 16th round. If that dude breaks out and is the starter next year, I will be EXTREMELY grateful to keep him lol

 

Alright it turns out the edit I made was a bad one---the guy in question is in fact keepable. So I can keep Allen Robinson in the 2nd round. THat would be pick 30 overall. Fantasy Pro's aggregate ADP page has him at 33, and there's DEFINITELY gonna be at least 3 guys would would normally be drafted ahead of him who will be kept elsewhere instead.

So....I gotta keep Robinson there, right?

 

I dont think you have to. You're keeping Edmonds and Tonyan presumably; and both those guys are several rounds ahead of their ADP. Robinson is right at his, and while I'd probably rather lock him in than worry what happens if he, McLaurin, and those WRs are gone at #30...I could also see being comfortable just taking who is there at 30. Cause if those WRs are gone, then it means you can have an absolutely locked in RB1/RB2/Flex between your #3 and #30 pick and Edmonds

 

First draft in the books. 8-team, 2 QB league. I hate this league as the settings are all over the place. Every team is stacked.
