After starting 1-4, my team made it to 8-5 and 3rd place in my league...and led the league in scoring...so I'll take the small victory from that. And my wife, whose team I drafted since she had work, is the #1 team. Only real swing and miss was drafting Akers way too early; and not picking up James Robinson in that league off waivers over my late round draft picks of Michel/Duke Johnson. The Robinson/Gibson combo carried me in my other league
Lost in the first round of the playoffs; without Fuller, I had Jefferson/Parker/Higgins at WR, and they all laid eggs basically. And my opponent had Lamar + Hunt. In week 12, the last place team was playing the 2nd place team, who had not seen that Fitzpatrick was inactive, yet still couldnt beat them to get me the bye week
I am not proud to admit this but I was legit shook. When he came back I was just hoping for overtime. Then Hunt scored that TD and I was like "oh fuck am I going to win" and then Tucker went down and I was like, holy shit if he misses this I lose, making it does nothing for me. But then he sank it and I survived the Hunt fumble at the end. Was a rollercoaster. I survived going against Montgomery, Diggs, Kelce, and Sanders.
Well if Ronald Jones doesn't play I'll need a desperation flex play, as he was already my replacement flex play for Mixon/Gibson/Fuller. These are the options and its atrocious. This is also standard scoring ... which makes McKissic almost even more useless: McKissic vs Seattle Bowden Jr vs NE (would need to use waiver) R Higgins vs NYG (would need to use waiver) Hamler vs BUF (would need to use waiver) Hansen vs IND (would need to use waiver)
Two decisions I need opinions on - Pick 2 of the 3: - Aiyuk v Dallas - Cooper v SF - Claypool v Cincy (I'm leaning Aiyuk and Cooper) Pick 1 of the 2: - Carson vs Wash - Akers vs NYJ (I'm leaning Akers)
Aiyuk HAS to be the play, and then its a question of ceiling. Cooper is probably a steady 10-15pts, but no more. Claypool's trending down, and even with the great matchup, I think you take the risk of missing out on one of his 20+pt games since the downside is like 3pts Definitely Akers for the matchup.
This turned out horribly ... all the above on waivers were taken before me and I was left with Hansen. So it’s praying for RoJo to play, and if not I’m left with McKissic vs Seattle or something called Chad Hansen vs Indy. Love to see it.
Yeah I think he could be ... okay ... but I wish it weren’t a tough matchup. Watson has developed a chemistry. I might also keep an eye out on McCoy if the Bucs still hate Fournette and scratch him. I feel like his skill set matches what you need to do against Atlanta and could be another desperate option. Very risky though. I just wish this wasn’t happening in the semi finals lol
Atlanta has a very good run defense and is in the middle of a defensive resurgence. I'd definitely pass on McCoy. Guessing someone like Gus Edwards is taken?
I wish Gus was a available. To put it into perspective, McCoy was the highest RB available lol ... that’s where my waivers are at.
Are ya'll really going Cam Akers over Chris Carson? I understand the match-ups but I don't think I can bring myself to that substitution yet?
If anybody here wants to join a Dynasty fantasy league, we're rebooting ours. It's IDP no team defenses. 53 Man Roster, first draft is all players, every other draft is rookies only. QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, TE, RWT Flex, RWT Flex, K, DL, DL, DL, LB, LB, LB, DB, DB, DB, IDP Flex. Let me know!
Im thinking more for the "Akers can win you a whole matchup" side of things. 20+ touches in each of the last 2 games, against one of the softest teams in the league, while Carson is in more of a 50/50 time share against the 4th best fantasy RB defense? I feel like their floors are both in the 10-15pt range, but Akers ceiling is so high.
I hear you. I have both. I also have Wilson as my starting QB, so I've always liked that 'double dip' option which puts Carson a notch above Akers for me. But no doubt Akers has the better matchup. I think they both have the ability to explode.
