Although I’m gonna win this week and move into third place, I’m furious that the 4-7 team in my league (whose owner has largely checked out) left DeSean Watson on his bench because he had Burrow as his starter and didn’t make a change before thanksgiving games. He ended up dropping Burrow and picking up Daniel Jones. Long story short, had he just started Watson, which would have been the obvious competent move, he would have beaten the 6-5 team he was playing who will now be 7-5...the same record as me and I play him now next week which now makes it a must win for me.
Pretty sure I'll be dropping Fulgham this week. On the wire are: (10 team league) Deebo Corey Davis Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Perriman Gore Kirk Mixon (is he coming back?) David Johnson (is he coming back?) Fournette (who I dropped last week to pick-up Himes) My biggest need is WR as Terry McLaurin is my WR1 and Higgins was my WR2 but with no Burrow, I'm probably leaning on Cooks going forward for WR2. Leaning on picking up Deebo. But if Mixon or Johnson are indeed coming back, may be worth stashing although assuming CMC comes back Week 14, and neither of those guys would start over my CMC, A. Jones and Gibson.
Those 3, in that order, are what I'd target. Perriman is hard to trust week-to-week, but a bad team + trailing a lot + his touchdown potential gives him a shot. And Kirk doesnt get the volume, but he's a threat for 2TD any week. But obviously Deebo is gonna get more volume and be steadier week to week. And I get the Mixon/Johnson theory, but, would you really trust any of them, off injury, over Gibson?
The second place team in my league is up by 1.40 and I really need him to lose. He has Justin Tucker so I'm hoping Baltimore either gets shutout or scores one TD.
Fuck I was THIS close to getting my wish. funny side note, the guy who lost that match above started Hinton at flex, who scored negative .7. Had he started literally nobody at flex, he would have won.
Ugh so I’m 3rd heading to this week BUT I’m tied with 6 other people at 6-6 so I definitely need to win. I think there’s a path to me making the playoffs even if I lose because I’m the 2nd highest scoring team in the league and no team in that group is close to me, but I don’t want to end up in that situation lol.
In a very similar situation, although my regular season is 14 weeks, not 13. I'm in third place, second in scoring, but I'm 7-5, along with the 4th, 5th & 6th place teams. I play the 5th place team, so it's a must win for me. The teams in 1st and 2nd place are 8-4 and even the 7th place team still has a shot at 5-7. Only 4 teams make the playoffs. I've been on a tear recently, winning 3 in a row and 6 of my last 7. I'm due for a shitty week.
Finished 9-3 and second overall, unfortunately I am matched up against the team I didn’t want to for the playoffs, even though he finished third he probably has the best team I would say. He has Rodgers/mahomes so there’s automatically 60 points per week right there lol.
9-3 with the first place bye secured no matter what happens this week! However, Im not feeling good for the playoffs: - Josh Allen lost John Brown - Taysum Hill won’t throw to Kamara - Mixon prob done for season - Will Fuller suspended - Ronald Jones back in my lineup
Sitting pretty at 8-4 in both leagues with the asterisk next to my name. Sitting in second place in the league I'm commissioner in with a super easy matchup. I should get the bye if I can pull it off. Losing Will Fuller, Joe Mixon, and David Johnson has really put a damper on my season, but through trading and waivers I've been able to patch together a decent enough team. However, I'm really hurting at QB right now. I dropped Stafford to pick up Carr last week and that blew up in my face (fortunately I had Henry and Fuller to help get me out of that hole), but without Fuller I know I'm gonna need my QB to put up numbers this week. The waiver is barren at QB because people in my league do not like to stream so they all carry 2 QB's. My options are: - Sticking with Derek Carr against the Jets or grab one of these guys off the waivers (this list makes me sad) - Rivers vs. Houston - Trubisky vs. Detroit - Goff vs. Arizona I'm leaning towards just rolling with Derek Carr, he's been pretty solid all year (in terms of fantasy and as bad as he is I can't imagine him putting up a dud against the Jets) In the other league it's probably a long shot for me to get the bye, however I'm just hoping that CMC comes back for week 14 and I get him just in time for the playoffs. Edit: My current team in the league I'm commissioner in for context (1ppr) QB: Derek Carr WR: Terry McLaurin WR: Robert Woods WR: Chase Claypool RB: Derrick Henry RB: Todd Gurley II TE: Dallas Goedert Flex: Stefon Diggs K: Rodrigo Blankenship DEF: Los Angeles Rams Bench: David Johnson Bench: Will Fuller (Have waiver claims to drop him for Deebo or Keke) Bench: Brian Hill Bench: Giovani Bernard Bench: Antonio Brown Bench: Benny Snell Jr. IR: Joe Mixon
I’d see about snatching Tannehill from the waiver if you can. Carr’s underperformed now the last 3 out of 4 games.
I wish Tannehill was on the waiver. Those three options I put up are literally the best available on waivers.
Is Nyheim Hines still worth a flex this week with Taylor back? Or should I flex: Deebo (if I can get him on Waivers) Pittman Jr (also on waivers) Cam Akers (also on waivers) Tee Higgins (hard to trust with no Burrow) or do I get really crazy and flex Jamaal Williams (while also starting Aaron Jones as my RB1)
I'd say toss up between Deebo and Hines. Hines is probably a safer pick but he won't win you the week
Those are the three things I'd actually consider; Akers feels like he's got as much bust potential as Hines, but maybe more upside? Deebo obviously would be the play if you get him...longer term, I honestly dont think Williams/Jones is the worst idea, but Philly is probably the wrong matchup for that.
Assuming CMC comes back Week 14, I'll never have to worry about this again, haha. My RB 1/2/Flex after this week will be CMC, Aaron Jones and Antonio Gibson.
Trying to decide if I should try for Booker or Akers on the waiver wire this week. We prob won’t know about Jacob’s status this week. I really don’t need to win this week and I get a bye next week ... so I’m leaning Akers for long term value.
Yeah, just as likely that Akers busts...but you are always looking for a guy who can suddenly get 10-15 touches regularly and possibly become a lead back.
