Had my first draft last night. My second draft is Saturday.

My draft last night was for a league that is kind of insane. You start 2 QBs, 4 WR, 3 RB , TE, K, Def. Only 8 teams so every team is kind of stacked. Scoring system is different than any other league I've been in (1 pt per 50 throwing yards, 1 pt per 20 receiving yards, 1 point per 20 rushing yards, but 3 bonus points for anything over 100 rushing/receiving yards and/or 300 throwing yards - 1PPR)

I actually dropped out of it two years ago (after being in it for 8 years) but rejoined this year just because I was down to one league and I'm normally in 3 or 4.

    QB: Rodgers
    QB: Ryan
    WR: Evans
    WR: K. Allen
    WR: Landry
    WR: Watkins
    RB: Conner
    RB: A. Jones
    RB: D. Henry
    TE: H. Henry

    Bench:
Melvin Gordon (nobody was touching him due to the holdout so I took him pretty late)
    Shepard
    Marvin Jones
    L. Murray

    K: Crosby
    DEF: Baltimore

But a zero or negative yard reception accomplishes nothing for the team lol

Sure it does. It forces the defense to acknowledge they have to cover underneath, it keeps the clock going, it avoids a sack etc etc etc

This league is insane, and I cant decide if its great or horrible for it. The 8-team actually makes it a little better...but man 4WR/3RB is nuts.

I don’t love it. When I was in four leagues it was by far my least favorite. I only rejoined because two of my other leagues collapsed and only one league is depressing. I will say the roster/scoring settings are intriguing in the sense that every team is loaded so anything can happen any week.

Welp did my main money league. It’s a 12 team standard, keeper league. I didn’t have a 6th round pick this year and it honestly fucked me. I don’t like my team really at all. My WR’s are BAD. I had pick 5.

    QB: Watson
RB: Fournette, Kerryon, Carson, Justice Hill, Mattison, Damien Harris
WR: Hopkins, Curtis Samuel, Golden Tate, Anthony Miller, James Washington
    TE: Hooper, Hockenson
    Bears D
    Robbie Gould

Not being able to grab a WR2 in the 6th really fucked me. I was banking on Emmanuel Sanders in the 7th but nope. G. Allison & Koutee all went right before so I was all screwed up.

Trying to hit some homeruns in my late rounds for RB stars. But yeah ... not happy with this squad this year. I will never trade s top 6 pick again.

You have a ton of high upside RBs that you might be able to pair with a WR for an upgrade at WR2. But Samuel and Miller are both supposed to take big steps forward this year, so who knows, maybe you already have a decent WR2 on your team.

I dig that Hopkins/Watson pairing too.

I definitely like my upside at the RB spot! I'm stacked there already, but banking on some injuries to hit a homerun. If I do (which I feel confident Hill and Mattison will be of use sooner than later), I can definitely package one of them to upgrade at WR. I hope Tate can be of decent value when he returns, but man, I was so bummed it went like this. Not getting Sanders, Allison, Coutee as I planned really messed me up.

I started out awesome with Hopkins in the first, Fournette in the 2nd, and then took Carson in the 3rd (Aaron Jones and Freeman were long gone), but it came down to my 4th round. I knew it would be risky to go high QB here because I had Kerryon in the 5th as a keeper and no 6th round pick, but I let excitement get the best of me and passed over Godwin for Watson and definitely regret it.

I have had Watson all his career thus far and Nuk is my favorite WR in football, so I'm happy to at least go down with some players I love. And as a trademark for me in fantasy, I always end up with the Jags running game. I'll be up at 9 am to watch some god damn London games.

WR: Mike Evans, Stefon Diggs, Christian Kirk, Curtis Samuel, Jamison Crowder

I was looking down the list like "actually, thats not bad...and he has Hopkins and Ohhhhhhhhh". That WR depth is rough, and with Fournette you have to be a little hesitant to move Kerryon or Carson for a better RB. Though Keeper wise you are in a decent spot.

you're probably best off waiting til Week 3 or 4 and hoping that Samuel/Washington break out...or that someone like Hill returns flex value and you can move one of the RBs for a WR upgrade. The other good news is there is almost always a WR that breaks out early that is on waivers.

Haha yep. I've done some incredible amount of research/mocks all August and I just feel like it didn't match what I drafted so I'm disappointed by that.

Every person I've shown I start out with QB, then RB, then Hopkins and they are like "what the hell your team is good what are you talking about" … then I show the WR's lol. I just cannot believe it went that way where all the later WR's went in the 5th/6th spot and I was left with some pure shit. I planned on loading up with Sanders, Allison, Coutee, Pettis, and Moncrief and they all went in the 5th/6th/7th round before my pick.

If I can hit on 1 of the 3 of Miller, Samuel, or Washington and then Tate comes back and is "decent" I'll feel okay. But yep, already hoping my handcuffs come of value sooner so I can pull off something to upgrade. Keeper leagues and draft pick trades will do it to ya, it sucks. Other teams in my league also are struggling WR wise so I'm actually not the worst in that regard … somehow.

As someone who has the 12th pick in the draft, those RBs are basically exactly what Im staring at in a best case scenario if I go WR/WR in the first 2 rounds. So I wasnt thrown off by that...but seeing Samuels instead of a Thomas/OBJ/etc is what threw my eyes off.

Also, I think Tate coming back will matter. Feels like he'll be a steady low-end WR2 unless Shepherd really goes off early.

I had 5th pick so rolled with Hopkins, then Fournette/Carson in my 2nd/3rd swing.

For you with 12th pick (and hopefully no keepers so good players are still on the board) I would definitely try to grab WR/WR and then some decent RB's in the 3rd/4th.

Y'all need to stop drafting two tight ends. Why waste a bench spot on a terrible position?

In redraft leagues taking 2 isn’t necessary. However in a keeper league I am absolutely gonna try and stash Hockenson and try to hit a homerun there. Those who rolled with Kittle are feeling great this year they have a top 4 at the spot with a 13-16 round pick.

I used my like 13th on Hooper and 15th on Hockenson. I’m okay with that. With Justice Hill, Pollard, Thompson, Mattison, Harris, and literally every other good sleeper drafted in my league: I’m fine with it.

Even Engram is my designated starter, and i snagged Andrews late because i'm a believer in him and think i may be able to flip him later to a tight end desperate team.

Nice. That's a solid team then. Especially if either of your QBs have a real breakout year.

I am trying to work a trade since he has Carson/Melvin Gordon and I have Penny/Justin Jackson. He also has Cooks and Kupp (Got autopicked Kupp)

is something like Penny + Moncrief for Kupp something I should consider? Its 12 teams, 0.5 ppr

Feels like Justin Jackson is the one to move...since he has basically 0 value for you and potentially a lot of value to him. And Penny might have stand-alone value as a flex for you. Jackson/Moncrief isnt enough for Kupp though I dont believe.
