WE've done yearly threads in the past but they hardly get any action. Figure one thread going forward should be good enough.

Currently trying to figure out who I'm going to keep. We can keep 12 and I've got it narrowed down to 15-16 right now.

 

Okay....I think I'm down to deciding between...

Alex Verdugo for $7
Akil Baddoo for $6

Decided to not keep Robbie Grossman $6, Ryan McMahon for $6, and Mark Melancon for $6.

I'm leaning towards keeping Baddoo, but worried it'll finally be the yea Verdugo breaks out lol

 

Really struggling with who to take first overall. Leaning toward Turner.

 

I got the first overall pick in a NFBC league I'm doing (first year doing it), and I took Ohtani there. I won't get both is pitching and hitting stats because of the way the scoring works, but it's nice to know that if he has a shitty week at the plate, I have the backup of getting his pitching stats. This best ball format where I don't have to set lineups is great lol

 

Had our draft today, 10 team keeper. not thrilled tbh. Some things happened that I wish I could have done differently, bid higher on a few guys, etc. K's next to the keepers

Gonna slot Tatis into DL when yahoo finally lets me and pick up someone, and Torkelson into my N/A slot for now and pick up someone else, unless he starts in the bigs, then I'll pick up someone else into my N/A slot. Yahoo doesn't let us draft into the N/A slot, so stupid. Also gonna drop Mancini for a potential closer to get some potential saves on my roster. Usually I leave the draft with at least one closer and go from there, but didn't happen this time. I nominated Mancini assuming someone would bid on him, and nope.

 

Drafting tomorrow night. We do 2 keepers so I’m keeping Bryce Harper in 2nd round and Wander Franco in 23rd round.

I have 2nd overall pick and with keepers it’s between Jose Ramirez, Freddie freeman, or Gerrit Cole.

 

Should I drop one of Baddoo/Dalbec for Joc Pederson?

The lack of magazines this year is disappointing. Yeah old man technology and all that, and of course I use the internet for much of my research, but I love having a paper copy in my hands with the organization a magazine offers and etc. I've only seen two this year, SportsEdge aka Rotoworld, annnd...actually forgetting which one my other one is at the moment.

Lindy's apparently made one that does exist but good luck finding it anywhere. Like it's literally impossible to get it.

 

I know I basically talk to myself in here, but did my auction draft last night and it went....interestingly? I ended up with a very similar team to last year in terms of my "stars" because I ended up bidding on guys and getting them at prices I wasn't really expecting to. But sheeeesh the OF depth disappeared fast, so I have guys like Tatis and Vaughn that I might prefer to put in the IF but will end up being OFers because of my roster construction.

GOnna move Pfaadt to my NA and pick up another pitcher, and will put Rodon on the DL when they do that. Legit have no idea what to expect out of some of my offensive guys. Did not come into this draft expecting to get Whit Merrifield or Cody Bellinger or De La Cruz lol. Also did not plan on having the only 3B on my team be Ty France

Just had our keeper auction draft. It was a weird experience because usually I keep bargains and throw my expensive players back and have a lot of money to play around with, but this year I kept all my expensive guys for prices that they probably would have went for, or maybe for cheaper than what they would have went for, and went into the draft with $40 (of a $260 budget) and basically had to sit on my hands for a while watching all the best guys in the draft go. Very weird experience. I don't hate my team....but I do hate my 3rd base situation right now. Pitching a complete crapshoot. K's are next to the guys I kept.

Just a weird feeling draft. Got a couple of guys I didn't plan on getting, just nominated them and got them (Muncy).
Gonna move Shohei pitcher to my DL and put Kyle Manzardo in my NA slot, so I'll ahve two open roster spots to fill from waivers. No idea what direction I'll go with those slots. Also have no idea how to configure my offense....could put Vinny P into my CI slot, put Nolan Jones in the OF, and bench Meadows or Mullins for now. No idea who to start at 3rd between my 3 shitty 3rd basement. Sigh.

 

…and my buddy talked me into doing a 2nd NFBC draft immediately after that auction lol. So now I have two NfBC best ball teams in addition to the auction league I posted above.

 

Have my keeper league draft today. I threw some mediocre guys back in the pool that I might have kept in years passed. Hopefully I can get them back cheaper than the $6 it woulda cost to keep them

 

Anyone here interested in joining a Dynasty League that has been running for 13 years now. It initially started out from Absolutepunk way back in the day.

Roster size is 40, with 35 keepers from year to year (free keepers). We also have a 10 prospect "Farm Team" managed through Google Sheets that allows an owner to protect 10 additional prospects until they lose rookie eligibility (130 ABs or 50 IP).

We have three owners that aren't active anymore and we are looking for interested people to take over and revamp those teams. It's free - we just play at this point for the love of baseball. If you're intereted, let me know and I can share the current rosters/farm team of the three available teams and you could take over right away.
