Yeah there was a lot that I loved about this season but overall it kinda just felt like a setup for season 3. I hope there’s a quick turnaround. Bring back 13 episode seasons!
hm, yeah, too many plotlines that felt like they didn't go anywhere, but also a lot of stuff that was really cool to see in live action. so, sort of a meh season overall. i expected more from this and tlou s2. somehow Twisted Metal is the one with a second season that didn't disappoint.
I enjoyed this season but agree, they tried to jam too much in too little time. Feel like they're already setting up too much stuff to jam into another 8 episodes Not enough Ella this season
As a New Vegas fanboy, I thoroughly enjoyed the shit out of this season considering the constraints as a table setting season. Looking forward to Fallout: Colorado (coop spoilers). The fan service was fucking awesome. The recreation of the NCR ranger with the anti-material sniper rifle shooting the deathclaw, FISTO, Caesar being a giant megalomaniac dick at the end of the day, the NCR power armor reveal when Coop and Maximus exchanged the diode, House making clear references to the courier in the last episode, fucking Clancy Brown as the president in the flashbacks. Response in spoilers. Isn't that kind of the point of the entire series in a way? War never changes. It's always the same outcome, and it makes sense to kind of start back at square one with the factions if they're not gonna canonize one ending over the other. Considering they backed themselves into a corner by doing that, I thought they did a hell of a good job personally. Edit: My post is looking more like a legal document than anything else with these black boxes.
Yeah as a New Vegas aficionado, I loved what we got. SO MANY references and Easter eggs. I told my brother, who's also never played the games (and shares many complaints heard here and other places online) that while I understand where everyone's coming from, it REALLY felt like this was a live action sequel to the actual game as it's literally a followup to what happened in it. My only real complaints are the BoS storyline being non-existent, therefore taking up time in an *already* shortened season and the fact I wished we had more then 8 episodes. There were plenty of FUCK YEAH moments. Very excited for next season. Especially considering most of the content will be brand new to the franchise lore and we'll get our first introduction proper to Colorado. I just wonder if we're getting a FO4/Shawn scenario with The Ghoul now, if we'll find out the wife died a long time ago but the daughter is now much older.
I think you quoted the wrong post. But yeah, if that last part you said ends up being true, that would be a very interesting twist
As someone who never played the game, is there a place I can get just yes/no answers to the questions below? - Do we ever learn if the globe is a wasteland or if it’s just the US? - Do we ever learn what vaultech truly does? - Do we ever learn all the phases of the “the plan” for the vaults?
SORRY! I def meant to reply to @swboyd but at least I know you've played that game....right?! Lol I think I saw a while back you posted in the VG thread about having beat it. But yeah, The Ghoul is all about surviving and enduring the end of the world, unfortunately by himself. Hes spend so many years searching and let's be honest.....he thinks they went into cryo sleep and would be the same as the day he went in.....he's now a ghoul. Colorado in game lore is supposedly where the president had a bunker built someone would assume with The Enclave being there, what if the daughter was eventually brought up in their ranks since the mom worked alongside them...... I'd rather them not retread a previous plot from FO4 but then again there's a sizeable audience that are show only people who wouldn't be familiar with that.
while I do agree how they finished it off after having backed themselves into a corner was quite good, I still feel like they should have introduced some fresh factions or something. It feels like where they left off now is just going to be a repeat of the exact same factions from the game and then it will probably end again with them all losing in some way and repeat. And war never changes I interpret as a critique on human nature, not just rehashing the same factions over and over again starting from square one every time. While I know that sounds harsh, it really is just a minor nitpick and I am absolutely loving the show, just wish they would have stepped out on their own a little more and came up with some more original additions to the franchise than taking us on a reboot tour of New Vegas if that makes sense
Been watching this with my mom and we got to the part yesterday where Maximus' armor crushes a guy's skull with one hand and my mom burst out laughing in shock and commented it was like a watermelon. Just thought I'd share.
About to catch up on this thread but just finished the season 2 finale and I swear the episode tries to end like 6 times and it just keeps bouncing from story to story Jesus Christ lol
We finished this show recently (now watching Twisted Metal) and I agree it gives Return Of The King vibes but everything is exciting so I don't mind it. I'm very intrigued to see what's next, especially with what the real plan was for the vaults. Also looking forward to Ron Perlman having a bigger role and exploring more of the threat of the Enclave. That ending with Lucy and her father, some powerful fucking stuff. On the one hand, he's a monster, but it's also sad because he's still her father, but then still the guy chose to wipe his own memory than risk telling his daughter what he did, so it's fucked up and sad all at once.
Also, "would you like to make my cock explode" is certainly one of the things said by a performer in a television series of all time. That and the whole incest support group... just cringing the hardest I've ever cringed.
Steph and Chet also got upgraded to regulars for Season 3...excited to see where they take them because their arc was one of the most intriguing of Season 2 to me.
