I absolutely loved this. Really have only played from Fallout 3 onwards but this made me want to explore 1 and 2 for the lore
I'm still so happy seeing all the love that Fallout is getting because of this. So pumped for next season.
we polished this off tonight, I enjoyed the whole show but the finale wasn't great? the reveals were all pretty obvious and kinda landed with a thud, most of them did not justify 7 episodes of teasing lmao. all the actual conflict was pretty much shunted into next season so not much really happened, the Ghoul especially was very anticlimactic on that front. still a lot of stuff I don't really understand, like what the point of Emerson's character was at all except being a human macguffin? also good god that deaging scene looked like absolute ass, I can't believe anyone signed off on using that lmao. 7/8 good episodes is a solid hitrate but this did not stick the landing for me
Finished ep 6. Up until now it’s been fine but I really liked this one, especially all the pre war stuff. Feels like the kind of things you’d just read about in journal entries in the game.
I haven't played the videogames and have no idea how much of the lore is directly from them, but I liked / borderline loved it at most times, but I really didn't like the last episode. So much was crammed into it, and while it's tone all series was pretty comic, I felt the big reveal too corny and I don't really fully understand or buy the motivation of all the tech companies wanting the end of the world for them to race forward with their experiments. It just went into outlandish territory in a bad way. I also felt like this was borderline one of those cases where shuffling with the narrative was to hide a weak story. After that kind of narrative blew up. it was always debatable if the technique was warranted or not. This sort of screamed of a puzzle that didn't really need to be a puzzle (at least not quite in the way it was presented). I did enjoy enough to happily continue on when it returns. The other thing I didn't like and didn't realize this was the reason why, is that it was made with commercials in mind. It kept cutting to black and I was like 'why does it have these weird transitions like it was made for TV?' then I realized that all the Amazon stuff has commercials now unless you upgraded (which I did). But yea, the random black screens and odd transitions seemed janky and old school and I just put that together. That's so annoying that we've come full circle. Even paying to not have commercials, the presence was felt by the cuts.
This was the thing that really bugged me. There were certain things surrounding it like the mom being adamant about protecting her daughter and then the bombs fall when she's not in a vault... Maybe that gets explained later but I was scratching my head at that. Pretty much agree on everything you said.
Yea. his daughter is definitely alive as he says he's searching for his family (not wife) so I'm sure we'll get extended back story of how she got to the vault and he didn't get in himself (for whatever reason, wasn't allowed in, chose not to etc).. also how he became a ghoul as that part is still unclear to me
Just finished this last night. Having never played the games, found it really enjoyable and engaging enough. Lucy and Maximus both had good arcs, and the last episode felt a bit busy with forced emotional depth. It didn't hit me like it may have hit those that have played the games? Does it marry up storyline-wise? Overall a good series. Won't need to rewatch it until the pre-season 2 binge though. Makes me want to dive into the games, but I don't have the time. Might download Shelter for my phone.
Humor in this is reminiscent of Shaun of the Dead in a lot of ways. Writing is so tight like just the perfect show.
Man between The Last of Us, Twisted Metal and this, it's sweet to watch some really good videogame-based shows
I need some neanderthal hardcore band to write a song with the "ass jerky don't make itself" line before the breakdown.
I was hoping this would be better, but I still enjoyed it a lot cool teaser at the end there. the show takes place about fifteen years after NV
I would like to declare that this was fantastic. I know nothing of the game and now wish I could go back in time and listen to my gamer friends when they told me to play it back in 00’s.
Highly anticipating season two whenever it comes https://screenrant.com/fallout-season-2-release-wait-streaming-trend/
