lol it really is. I’ve listened to some of the album earlier this morning though and really enjoying it so far, feels like a nice progression from the later Falling Up albums

  2. This record is great. No huge surprises, this feels like the S/T part 2 but that is not a bad thing. Perhaps a little more spacious and less straight-out rock than that album.

Fangs! is still my favorite but besides Hours they haven't really missed since then, and even then with a better mix I might really like Hours.

Yeah agreed. I adore the self-titled album so I’m very happy with this.

  4. Thought the new album was alright. They've been very hit or miss for me since Captiva, and the deep lore and stuff they lean into now doesn't really interest me.

That’s so interesting, because to me that’s right around the point where they started to move away from what had imo been a largely generic Christian hard rock sound up until that point, and developed into much more interesting artists. It’s funny how music does totally different things for different listeners.

  6. I’ll always give them credit for trying something bold even when it doesn’t work for me. I just think Dawn Escapes and Captiva were some of the best of that crop of Christian rock.

I've been listening to Self-Titled again/more closely before giving this one a go, and wow, it really is as good as everyone says. Banger after banger. The lore completely misses me and I don't know if I'll ever pick up on what is going on with that, but I still love it.

  8. Finally giving it a listen and I’m floored. Can already tell some of these tracks are going to be favorites out of their entire discography.

What a send off / return
