Hot take apparently: Wilson and church are beating much better songs :)

Especially the Wilson blowout, the heck is that??

 

Church and Bishop are really close for me at this point, but I gave the nod to the former bc it was my immediate favorite on the album.

 

Yeah Stay Frosty deserves better than a blowout. But Church is way better than Bishops.

 

Church is mid-tier FOB, considering their entire discography. Bishops is a top 5 all-time FOB song.

 

I don’t know most of their discog but I agree with this sentiment haha
Patrick’s voice in the chorus is great but church is so uninteresting to me. Bishop is a ride from start to finish.

 

Honestly, I'm a massive FOB fanboy so even calling Church mid-tier isn't a diss - it's a great song. But, for me, Bishops is entirely on another level. When I first heard it, I actually got goosebumps.

 

Bishops is one of the 2-3 songs that didn't catch me on my first few listens. There's just nothing that particularly stands out on that track for me. I actually remember telling myself it was an underwhelming ending to the album the first time I heard it.

I mean, it's a pretty good song, but I don't hear anything mind blowing in it. Church on the other hand is catchy as hell and Patrick's vocal performance is phenomenal throughout the entire track, just like on Heaven's Gate.

 

I like Church, but it suffers from the same repetition Champion does.

 

See I don’t think it’s a particularly catchy song at all. Agree patrick’s performance is good on it, but that’s the only draw for me. Fortunately I don’t feel too invested in this bracket haha the anberlin one got me real salty almost daily.

I probably wouldn't be as salty about Church possibly losing to Bishops if my other favourite track hadn't also been crushed in its first round this morning. I've been looking forward to this album since the beginning of the brackets and seeing my favourites get eliminated this early is breaking my heart.

 

Those kinds of emotions remind us the brackets are no game.

Church is the best song on the album. If it loses to a slightly above mediocre song like Bishop, we have a problem.

 

Well I don't think you have anything to worry about since they're currently tied 15-15 by my count and Micool as the tiebreaker is going to vote for Church if nobody else comes in for Bishop's.

 

I'll admit the bridge of Bishop is actually my favorite moment of the entire album, but as songs overall, Church is way better
