Great song, but Novocaine is without a doubt this album's best song, so it's unfortunate it didn't make it to the end.

 

I don't see how a worse rewrite of "The Phoenix" is anywhere close to the best song on here, but ...

 

The Kids Arent Alright is very easily the best song here imo

 

Well The Phoenix is arguably my favourite song on SRAR, so maybe that explains why I love Novocaine so much.

 

Though it's nowhere near a "worse rewrite" of that song. Both songs offer enough to stand on their own merit.

 

Novocaine is my least favorite on AB/AP.

Irresistible, The Kids Aren't Alright, Uma Thurman, and Favorite Record are my favorites.

 

Jet Pack Blues

should be The Kids Aren't Alright tho...

 

I can appreciate if it's not people's favourite song, but I do get a bit baffled when people think songs like AB/AP and Immortals are better than it personally

Maybe with Novocaine, this is one of the few times I think the critics got it right (many reviews I've read for the album list it as a highlight or the standout track).

I love both those songs. Probably more than the two songs left even. I understand why AB/AP puts some people off, but Immortals is a solid, catchy tune.

I've said it before, but the Jet Pack Blues/Novocaine/Fourth of July three song streak is real good.

Fourth of July is my favorite on this album, but Novocaine is second. Jet Pack Blues is my second least favorite behind Centuries.
