Yeah, there's no way Novocaine is winning a record with Irresistible, The Kids Aren't Alright, Fourth of July, Favorite Record, and Twin Skeletons.

 

Kids Aren't Alright deserves the win 100%

 

The chorus kills Novocaine for me, I like the verses and the pre-chorus but for some reason I'm just not big on it. Also I was exaggerating I do like it more than Uma Thurman and the title track.

 

Yeah Kids Aren't Alright is def the best

 

Twin Skeletons/Favorite Record/Fourth of July are 1a, 1b, and 1c. And that's that.

 

Maybe it’s just worn on me, but The Kids Aren’t Alright is probably my fifth favourite on the album. Jet Pack Blues thru Favorite Record is near perfection.

 

Yeah Kids falls like right in the middle of the album at #6 for me. The top five are some of FOB's best songs ever, though (Twin Skeletons, Favorite Record, Fourth of July, Jet Pack Blues, Irresistible), so it's tough to crack that group.

 

(Also sorry for derailing the focus on Pax Am lol)

 

Honestly I'm surprised we're even doing PAX AM Days. Doesn't seem like too many people even remember it enough to rank/vote on it.

 

My problem with Irresistible is that it always makes me think of the horrible reworked duet with Demi that’s nowhere near as good as the original. Great song, but probably is my sixth or seventh fave on the album.

Just thinking about AB/AP makes me realize how underrated that album is - it’s seriously good, as a whole.

 

Never heard that duet version so I'm good on that front. Didn't know it existed, even. And yeah AB/AP is way, way better than SR&R and almost as good as M A N I A.

 

What!? I love the duet version! I replaced the original with it on my version of the album in iTunes

 

I dunno, I appreciate Demi but she sounds super out of place on the track IMO. I don’t like how her voice melds with Patrick’s when she is singing harmonies and her part of the bridge is rough.

I disagree completely. I think she sounds great throughout and they sound great together.

Plus the way the lyric changes in the last chorus when she sings "I still love the way I hurt you" makes the whole thing.
