My exact feelings. I have an outsize amount of love for that EP and I know it all comes from being at that show.
I missed most of the Pax AM set at Metro because my date wanted to "have dinner" and "get drinks" beforehand smdh.
no real FOB fan would insist on dinner and drinks before a show. I sure as shit never did. It was always show up 5 hours before the show, hangout with friends in line, maybe see the guys arrive in a van and that was that.
Hey, I was at that show too! But I still don't really ever feel the need to go back to Pax AM. My hope for the direction they take is to explore something like what White Reaper does. Take their modern pop-rock sound and filter it through the sound of bands like Cheap Trick and Thin Lizzy.
hey i love dinner and drinks before a show as much as steve's date appeared to but, id at least make sure i confirm set times before i make those plans!
Yes, but she eventually started dating another guy named Steve which hurt more at the time than it should have.
Tell her you got Taylor Swift tickets or something and invite her to go with you, and then say “hey I have a great idea. let’s get some food and drinks before the show!” And then never leave.
Haha agreed, that's why I said it was fun for a little. Like it was cool to listen to when it came out and to see at the show, but I honestly can't have listened to it more than 1 or 2 times since then, if that
The viral marketing continues. Apparently some fans are getting postcards in the mail with this image and link. https://sendingmylovefrompinkseashellbeach.com/#
If you're interested in the theme of the record. Seems like Pete ditched his idea for a solo record and is putting it into this. Pete Wentz Will Make A Solo Album If We're Locked Down For… | Kerrang! “There’s this bit in the movie Reality Bites where Ethan Hawke’s character talks about seeing his dad after he found out he had cancer," he says. "They’d talk about life and he gave Ethan’s character a pink seashell to help explain things. He realised the shell is empty and maybe life is pointless. ‘It’s all a random lottery of meaningless tragedy in a series of near escapes,’ he says. That’s why he enjoys the little things in life, like eating a burger or smoking a cigarette. I think there’s a whole record from that perspective, taking part in these little pieces of life without the consequence. It’s important to not forget those little granular moments of life. To me, there’s a record in that pink seashell.”
I don’t think he ever really planned to, considering lockdown lasted a while and he didn’t drop anything (thankfully). That awful Check Your Phone song seemed like something he just did for fun.
haha right?!?! Wentz already tried the side project thing (which IMO was terrible). that check your phone thing was clearly a dad of 3 in need of an escape lol.
do you guys think this do not open before christmas refers to the same lyric from Our Lawyer made us change the name of this song?
So if you click the seashell it displays in Japanese "If you build it, they will come." what does it mean?!
