I hated IOH when it came out when i was in college. Took me a long time to get into it but i do enjoy it a fair bit now. Its still a semi distant third behind TTTYG, which is probably one of my top 5 favorite albums ever, and Cork Tree.
Infinity On High is just the perfect FOB album. TTTYG and Cork Tree are consistent and show so much promise but only scratch the surface of what was coming; Folie's my favorite, but even I can admit that a few ideas on there are the result of Pete's head being a little too far up his own ass. SRAR is an excellent album and the star of an otherwise disappointing reunion era. IOH is just flawless from start to finish. A classic.
Yea I hear that. NFG's self titled was the first album I fell in love with and TTTYG was the first album that I fell even more in love with than that. They've both lost some luster to me as I age but the nostalgia's super high. I find FUCT to have better songs but IOH to be more coherent all the way through.
IOH has grown on me over the years. When it came out I thought it was pretty hit or miss. Though I always say Thriller was one of their all time best. But at some point some of the missed slowly became hits to me. Now I view it quite favorably.
@JulieLynn I think this is the one. https://www.reddit.com/r/FallOutBoy...urce=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
To this day, I still want the grey and purple one. God damn. so much merch I would still buy today if it was still in production.
I used to own the black hoodie with the orange Bat on it. To this day, I'm so pissed it got left at a temp job in like 2009 and I never got it back.
Hoping they've learned their lesson from Mania... Preparing for this to sound like "Amazing Spiderman & Friends" Soundtrack lol but cautiously excited!
Pat was too overly concerned with trying to write banger radio hits that the music suffered. I watched a video on the making of Mania and I know atleast Trohman was not happy with the direction, there were also early cuts of songs like Church that sounded SOO much better than the final product.
Mania is the best of their post-hiatus albums, however I know that’s not the general consensus. Mentally preparing for a pretty significant shift on this one, feels like they’re due for it
THAT is certainly a take. It's probably my least favorite of theirs. That being said, "Favorite Record" is one of their best songs.
