This would have pretty easily been one of the weakest songs on Mania. That said it's a fun little song
I feel like I am listening to a different song than everyone else. Fucking great song. So much better than the Champions/Centuries/Phoenix sound they’ve been at for awhile. Stuff like this and Sunshine Riptide, Hold Me Tight Or Don’t, Rat a Tat, etc. is my favorite type of FOB.
Guess I’m in the minority, but I found Mania to be pretty bland. Gave the record plenty of shots, but it just wasn’t good enough to capture my attention like SR&R and AB/AP
Not huge on super repetitive songs so just kind of meh... Production has that "Loudness Wars" vibe I'm not a huge fan of either.
Yeah I'm definitely over the "anthemic" FOB songs like those, I love how this one is almost like surf rockish To be fair my strong dislike of AB/AP is well documented on this site though
The greatest hits album is coming out right before the holidays, you better believe their label will be pitching it for placement in big box retailer endcaps for gift ideas. We are not the key audience for the greatest hits, people looking for gifts over the holidays are. I think you'll all be surprised at how well a CD of Fall Out Boy greatest hits will sell in 2019's holiday time....
Throw a new song/rarity/acoustic version on that bad boy and people will buy it. Also don't underestimate the Twitter stans with Patrick Stump defaults
Assuming a 15 song track list, do we think it looks like this? Trying to think of any one-offs I might have missed but I don't really think there are any. Unless they toss on I'll Be Waiting Dear Future Self The Phoenix My Songs Know Alone Together Young Volcanoes Irresistible Centuries The Kids Aren't Alright Uma Thurman Immortals The Last of the Real Ones Hold Me Tight or Don't Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) Champion Young and Menace
I know it's nothing new, but I still find it funny that Pete is the defacto frontman, and the one in all the photos/promo with Billie and Rivers
Could maybe see them swapping out 2 of these for Save Rock and Roll and Lake Effect Kid even if they weren’t hits
